The Twins are making a move, promoting outfield prospect Kyler Fedko to join the big-league team for their week-long road trip, sources told Twins Daily. Orlando Arcia has been designated assignment to make room on both the 26-man and the 40-man rosters.

Fedko, a 12th-round selection in the 2021 MLB Draft (369th overall), was a $125,000 signing out of UConn. A late bloomer who spent his early minor-league years repeating levels of the system frequently, He took off at Double-A during the 2025 season. In 130 games combined at Wichita and at Triple-A St. Paul, he hit .258/.367/.476, with 28 home runs and 38 stolen bases at an 83% success rate.

After a slow start with the Saints in 2026, Fedko has heated up in May and June. Through 58 games for St. Paul, he’s hitting .286/.372/.578 (138 wRC+) with 15 home runs among 28 extra-base hits and 9 stolen bases. Fedko brings an intriguing skill set. His recent power surge is anchored in pulling the ball in the air, as opposed to huge bat speed or upper-end exit velocities. Fedko has a knack for finding the barrel, with a 46% hard-hit rate in 2026.

There are some orange flags in the offensive profile. Fedko chases at a troublesome clip (34%), a tendency major-league pitchers will attempt to exploit. He can certainly help the big-league team, though. The Twins have needed additional right-handed help in the outfield for several years, and Fedko has above-average speed and a solid glove, with the versatility to move throughout outfield spots defensively.

It’s also worth noting that Fedko mashes left-handed pitching, managing a 1.262 OPS against southpaws in 2026. We should see him spell other outfield positions regularly, be in the lineup with consistency against left-handed pitching, and have a chance to establish himself as a fourth outfielder for the Twins. It's possible he grows into even more than that, but as Derek Shelton moves the pieces around his chessboard, Fedko comes in as another good one who can be utilized in the proper turns, rather than leaned on to do everything.

Two platoons and Buxton in the outfield.

He will certainly start tomorrow against Gore.

After that it's 5 Right Handers in a row and then back to back left handers to start the Dodgers series.

I'd hate to see him just watching for 5 in a row but... I worry that you might be right.

Congrats to Kyler... The phone call home must have contained a lot of woo-hoo's.

Very happy for Kyler and well deserved IMO.  It's really hard to break in to MLB so not expecting too much.  Still it will be nice to get a look at him as he has really good power and decent speed and he's a right handed power bat which we are short on in the outfiled.

He worked his butt off to get there against very long odds.  Glad the Twins are giving hm a chance.

Who is coming up for Lawrence or Travis ,Adam's, because neither one of them should be going to Arlington Texas?

Yes, after last night, I have no idea how Lawrence is still on the team.  That was batting practice bad!  He has just been horrific since he came to the Twins.  Send him to StP and see if he can still pitch over there, instead of blowing up games over here.

Send him to Cedar Rapids - he is not good enough for AAA

I'm happy for him too. And please don't call me butt.

That feels like a trade deadline move. Avoid the super 2 stuff.

May as well bring Ross up as well. Kreidler has options, doesn't he?

After Kreidler’s two big hits and outstanding play at SS, they saw they had a clear platoon at SS & they’ll probably lean toward Kreidker more often……… he’s a decent back-up for Buxton once every 8-9 games as well.

Martin/Clemens in RF with Fedko/Larnach in LF ………. Arcia & Outman gone …… making progress.

Arcia played well enough, but Keaschall seems to be getting his act together offensively, a little at a time. Lewis may get reps at 2B to spell Keaschall OR Clemens at 2B and leave Royce alone at 1B.

Low bar for outstanding play. The bar apparently starts at "below average" -1 DRS, -1 OAA with a .952 fielding percentage. Don't get me wrong, he's almost certainly going to be better than Brooks Lee, and that's been the bar recently, lol.

Keaschall is struggling with everything, and I don't see the improvement you're seeing, but I don't think it's a bad thing the Twins are giving him a long leash. I feel like they've been too quick to demote players over the past few years rather than letting the players work though stuff.

Nice opportunity for Fedko, and I think the DFA of Arcia is a nice move for Arcia himself as well. I'd be a little surprised if he didn't get claimed as his bat isn't looking great, but it's not looking as bad as it was previously. He's a known quantity, and you could do worse for an injury replacement guy.

I don't expect much out of Fedko, but it seems like the Twins are pretty concerned with Buxton and we don't honestly have a great CF alternative we can call up. Here's hoping Kyler proves me wrong!

It finally happened , evidently they don't think wallner is showing enough improvement in hitting to be a DH over Bell  ...

Congratulations and keep ripping the cover off the ball and prove all the nay-sayers wrong , don't have to be a star but it would be nice if he can come through in the clutch ...

I'll be watching ...
