Twins Video
Have you wondered where the Twins' minor league teams play? Who their coaches are? Where to find their schedule and rosters? We have the guide for you.
First and foremost, you need to know that Twins Daily is a great option for a one-stop spot for Twins minor-league content. Each day throughout the season, we post a minor league report with the day’s game scores and highlights, transactions and much more. Each week, there is a week in review of the Twins system. Each month, we will hand out awards for minor league hitter, starting pitcher, and relief pitcher of the month with profiles on several players who had strong performances. We also have year-end reports, top prospect rankings, and features throughout the year on Twins minor leaguers.
In 2021, a new minor-league alignment created several changes across baseball. Some minor-league teams were shut down. Others were able to align themselves with new major-league clubs. The Twins lost their long-time advanced rookie league affiliate, the Elizabethton Twins.

How long have they been the affiliate? The history of baseball in Cedar Rapids is far more than a century. Prior to the Twins, Cedar Rapids has been an affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, Cincinnati Reds and Los Angeles Angels. In 2012, Cedar Rapids and the Twins reached a Player Development Agreement. In that first season, the Twins sent the likes of Byron Buxton, Jorge Polanco, Jose Berrios, Taylor Rogers, and Max Kepler to Cedar Rapids for the 2012 season. They participated in the Midwest League playoffs every season as a Twins affiliate, and in 2023 won the Midwest League championship. That streak ended in 2024 when the team finished just outside the playoffs. With the minor-league realignment in 2021, the Midwest League shifted from Low Class-A to a High Class-A league.

How long have they been the affiliate? The Dominican Summer League began in 1985. The Twins were first in the DSL in 1998 as a Co-Op. They have had their own team since 2001. In 2015, the Twins and Phillies teamed to purchase 45 acres of property for approximately $1.8 million total. That same year, ground was broken and construction began. In January of 2017, the academy was completed. The teams split the $18 million costs for the new Baseball Academy where players can reside, take classes, and do any baseball work necessary.
The 18,000 square foot facility contains administrative offices, two conference rooms, video coaching room, staff locker room, player locker room, weight room (same equipment as in Fort Myers and at Target Field), training room, and hydrotherapy room, as well as two equipment rooms and two laundry rooms. Like in Fort Myers, there is a dormitory for players and staff. Up to 78 players and 10 staff members can stay there. It includes a dining room, an entertainment room, a TV room, a computer lab, and two classrooms.
Also like Fort Myers, there is an observation tower in the center that overlooks three full playing fields and 14 bullpen mounds. There is a covered batting cage that includes four batting tunnels and as many as 12 pitching mounds.
The Twins and Phillies each have their own dining rooms, but they do share a very large, commercial kitchen. They also share a large, 98-seat, theater-style auditorium with all the fun electronic gadgets.
