Please no. Sano is the opposite of what the team at least says it's trying to do. Go younger, faster, more athletic defensive minded players. Sano is a big slow, strikeout prone guy who would be a horrible first baseman. There has got to be better options out there on the trade market or even waiver wire....I do NOT believe Clemens is the answer either. I don't think the Twins are trying to compete this year, but if they did, they would have to sign a starting caliber first baseman. Ryan O'hearn wouldn't be a bad move. Maybe get Goldschmidt on a cheap one year deal....

For those of you slobbering over Emmanuel Rodriguez in this year’s Dominican Winter League, Sano should absolutely blow your mind.

Sano has more hits, more HRs, more walks, and fewer Ks than does Rodriguez in the same number of PA. Sano’s HR% is 12%, Rodriguez’s 7%. Sano’s K% is 18%; Rodriquez’s 30%.

This is the Dominican Winter League.

Does this mean Rodriquez will never be better than Sano? No. Does this mean Sano is ready for a successful MLB comeback? Unlikely.

Does this mean Rodriquez is actually probably considerably LESS ready to hit in the major leagues than even Miguel Sano at this point in time? Yes. Yes, it does.

Heck, Julien is still with the Twins with his Iron Glove.

If he meets all of Ziggy's requirements, nothing to lose, but better at DH.

I tell myself, time and again, not to be baited into Cody Christie's twice daily click baits.

And yet, here I am. I blame me.

Yep , pretty lame , almost as lame as the twins played under Rocco  , I sure hope shelton sparks the players to play like professional baseball players   ,  would be nice to see improvements  , something , anything  , I'd also like to see improvement on TD  , lame subjects  that yes suckers us in  ...

I've been watching past twins  baseball games since the season ended and I'm impressed with the way they used to play  ,, even if it was a 500 team , they still played with heart and knowledge of the situation  ...

When was the last time the Twins had a decent first baseman who actually lasted more than one year? 🤔 ...since you mention a far-fetched Sano possibility...how about seeing if Hrbek might be interested..

Morneau was the last one to regularly play a full season at 1B

Invite him.to spring training on a minor league deal.. If he is a 200 hitter with a high K rate & can't field his position, oh well. If he bats 250 with a decent K to W rate and can field his position - maybe he's the comeback player of the year.

Have the Twins had any triple plays since the 3 he started? At this point we have no one. Clemmons is a backup at best and we have no one even pushing him for the job.

Wow.  Twins Dayly must be getting desperate for stories.  My goodness.  Sano has run his course.  It would be absurd.  But then again absurd is the Minnesota Twins.

This story is just dumb, and cheap, enough to happen. Sad for the fans, attendance next year should be around 900,000 and maybe this team gets sold.

Falvey has made it clear that Clemens is our 1B. Julien is also in the mix at 1B. Gasper- though he hasn't mentioned him will also play 1B is my bet. I may not trust much of what Falvey says, but when he does bring up things like Clemens playing 1B I usually find it to be the case.

Clemens and Julien will be our 1B in 2026 for the most part.

Joe Mauer says hi.

Joe Mauer had  two non consecutive years of playing 1B more than 100 games in a season.  If that is a regular first 1B to you then Sano counts as a regular 1B

You're entitled to your opinion. Not entitled to invent facts.

Morneau's last season in MN was 2013.

Starting in 2014, Mauer was playing exclusively 1st base (and occasionally DH.).

2014: 129 games (with a 34 game IL stint Jul-Aug)

2015: 158 games

2016: 134 games despite quad injuries and vision issues

2017: 141 games (with one IL stint and lingering off-season surgery issues)

2018: 127 games, but by now id say he's probably not a full time first baseman.

1) Pear is a shape

2) working on defense and improving are different

We’ll never know more about the allegations than what has been published. My personal feeling is I believe the woman, and Sano and the Twins both lost a ton of respect from me over what allegedly happened and how it was handled.

6) Attitude is important, but is not “everything”.

Two years ago, I hit .675 and had 8 home runs in D League Slow Pitch Softball.  Does Cody Christie think I could also have a shot at playing First Base for the Twins next year too?

Send your tape to Falvey.

Well, I don't think I'm alone in feeling that he needs another shot in right field.  We cut that experiment short waaaaaaay too soon.

Those numbers in the Dominican Winter League easily translate to All-Star numbers in MLB.

Any questions about his character are waaaaaaaay overblown.  As far as I know he is a model citizen and the hardest of workers.  I don't remember him being out of shape one time.

Ok, did I get all the sarcasm out of my system?
