  1. So funny you brought this up. When I was talking to my daughter about him it occurred to me that having a favorite player based on their name was akin to choosing a horse for the same reason lol.😆 For the record, although I don't bet on horse racing much, I have been known to do just that when I really liked the horses name.
  2. I feel like this is one of those scenarios where the Dodgers will throw a bunch of Fan NIL money at me but when I get there I'll crack under the increased pressure and scrutiny of being a Dodgers fan. Then I'll look to transfer back to the Twins to finish out my fan career (or the Pirates or Marlins if the Twins won't take me back.)
  3. My daughter's name is Flora, and I've already promised her a jersey if he makes it to the Twins MLB club...so....make it happen.
  4. I feel like the idea almost everyone is missing is this: We have a decent bullpen right now. I can already hear the sneers and loud protestations. I understand. But we have a decent (read average) bullpen right now. It doesn't feel that way because we had a truly, legit ELITE bullpen prior to the trade deadline last year. Don't be mad we haven't replicated last year's opening BP potential. Be happy we got a whole lot in trade for last year's pen and now have what really looks to be a new serviceable one. That, with a (hopefully) great starting rotation and a probably average offense could win quite a few games this year. Also, don't discount the bump most teams get with a new coaching staff.
  5. Stop the hate please. Nothing wrong with the article title. He has elite pitches and the vast majority of MLB teams would slot him in for high leverage opps.
  6. Your post in "The Fort" thread might be the best post I've ever read on this site in 10+ years.  Enjoy every minute in FLA Sir.

Thank you for your kind words.

  7. If they throw a victory parade I'll pan it. If they trade for a really nice pan I'll throw a victory parade. Now that you're rolling with laughter...I think we trade Larnach for another very decent bullpen arm, possibly a tick up from Banda. Then they call the BP good. In fact, at that point they might call the offseason good. I don't think they believe they need another SS option. I'm watching the usage of our depth starters very closely this spring to see who is stretching out and who is not.
  8. I was certain there would be naysayers disagreeing with this article. I was not proven wrong. I will just say that I arrived at the conclusion (somewhat late) last year that the ownership was the problem, not the front office. And many of my opinions have been expressed in this article. I sincerely hope that either: The Twins are sold. The Twins are managed MUCH better by a new Pohlad.
  9. Steve, this is literally page 7 and it has been 100% baseball. Thanks for the fun real to all. I had literally a dozen actual laugh out loud moments.
  10. This sounds real. You get a feel for media information, and this sounds exactly like what it says: The Twins will not trade the "big 4" and will look to add (efficiently of course.) I for one think this has been the best news of the offseason. Everything that came before was doom and gloom conjecture and theory. Not saying we'll be world beaters next year by any stretch, but I now feel strongly we will push some chips in instead of folding and waiting for another pot.
  11. Bad luck? Didn't we jump way up to get Walker Jenkins just a couple years ago?
  12. Well, I don't think I'm alone in feeling that he needs another shot in right field. We cut that experiment short waaaaaaay too soon. Those numbers in the Dominican Winter League easily translate to All-Star numbers in MLB. Any questions about his character are waaaaaaaay overblown. As far as I know he is a model citizen and the hardest of workers. I don't remember him being out of shape one time. Ok, did I get all the sarcasm out of my system?
  13. For 500K I'll pretend to be whatever age you want.
  14. 5 million to falsify my age? That's life changing money for a 16 yr old kid in the DR. Dude, that's life changing money for me and I live in one of the richest nations in the world.
  15. Hiring a bourbon drinker is a flawed plan from the outset. The first question in the interview should be: What are your top 5 single-malt scotches, complete with region and strongest notes.
  16. I don't think Gladden would take a job where he has to be sober. I mean...that's the dream though, right? Who among us wouldn't snap up a job where we could have a tap brew while on the clock?
  17. I always thought Paul Molitor would make a great MLB manager.
  18. It's really too bad. Booby Gardenhire has a kinda nice ring to it.
  19. All-Star Castro being All-Star Castro. Is nice to see a consistent elevated level.of play. Kudos.
  20. I get your point, but it's not my usual Homer tunnel vision here. It's not just Royce's potential, he has shown on the field how great he is. Danny Valencia comp is just plain silly. Royce knows his swing is struggling, just like Correa did several weeks ago. Both are putting in the work to get right. And they will.
  21. Oh, FFS. Do you REALLY believe Lewis won't hit? Have you ever actually seen him play??? Lewis has the potential.to be a perenial all-star. Someone save this post and show the record in the future please.
  22. Well, if the Twins are going to keep winning winnable games, this season could still be a success. Feels pretty darn good to be .500 right now on the upward trajectory. This team could still be what I hoped they could be.
  23. Manny Margot, I love ya, but I hope you were taking notes there.
  24. I'm a kind person. I want to (and do, mostly) see the bright side of things. I hate managers (or any leaders) who masquerade as drill sergeants. I wish our Twins were tough as nails and chewed glass. I also want them to be happy and healthy, have a good work life balance, and win 105 games this year. I'm not sure all of that is compatible. I do believe that max effort is the best winning medicine.
