  1. I just hope whatever talent they can acquire has at least another year or two of control. This isn't our year, we should start to prepare for '27...
  2. I hope we keep Ryan. High end pitching is the best asset a team can have. Maybe we can get the next Joe Ryan when we trade Jeffers at the deadline.
  3. We need a dependable SP and one, if not two late inning RP.
  4. I hope they grab Lackey or any of the top three that are available. After that, load up on the best pitching available!
  5. I think we need pitching more than anything. Ideally MLB or near MLB ready, high end, young controllable arms.
  6. Larnach and Jeffers should be able to get us a few solid RP, ideally with more years of control than just rentals for this year.
  7. I actually think we have a solid looking infield coming up. Culpeper, Houston, Lee. OF is looking up too with Keaschal, Jenkins, E Rod.... Now if we could just hit on some pitching prospects we'd be in a real good position.
  8. Twins system is definitely weak on pitching. Hopefully we can remedy this at the trade deadline and get some high end, AAA/MLB ready type arms.
  9. He's earned his spot. I like having him as a bulk reliever in the pen to piggyback Prelipp or Ober and cover innings. A pen of Gomez, Morris, Parades, Rojas and Culpeper starts to look a bit better. At least closer to average....
  10. I like the idea. What have we got to lose? Might as well see what some of these young guys can do right? We definitely need an influx of young controllable pitching talent at the trade deadline though. All of our "prospects" are position players and the pitchers that there are, seem to all either be hurt, or getting absolutely shelled this year.
  11. We sure are weak on pitching prospects. Hopefully we can get some high end AAA/MLB ready arms at the deadline.
  12. I expect we at least trade Ryan and Jeffers. I just hope that we get a solid return and the players we get are either MLB or near MLB ready. Fans don't have the patience for a long rebuild, we need to see something in the next year or two:)
  13. I think we have a strong potential 1-2 punch at the top of our rotation with Abel and Bradley. I'm guessing Ryan will be gone, and maybe Pablo sometime next year. Still think we need one more top end SP because nobody in our minor league system looks ready... Maybe we pick up a top of the rotation pitcher at the deadline when we trade Ryan and Jeffers.
  14. I think it'd be a lot of fun and could really spark up the MLB team if they refigure the roster and call up Culpeper, Ben Ross, Sabato and Roden. Out with the old, in with the new. Need to see what we've got in these young guys. My guess is this won't happen until trade deadline time. They want to get as much as they can for guys like Bell, Larnach, Wallner, Clemens, Grey, Arcia etc....
  15. I say out with the old, in with the new. Trade away anyone not part of future plans and start seeing what we have in our young prospects. Culpeper, Sabato, Fedko, Roden. Rodriguez and Jenkins if they ever get healthy....
  16. I'd really like to see Sabato and Fedko get a chance. This is the year to do it. We're not winning a world series so they should be using this time to evaluate talent. It's the perfect time to give Fedko a shot before Roden, Rodriguez and Jenkins are healthy again. We need a long term first basemen and I doubt Clemens is the answer. I doubt it's Sabato too, but why not at least see what he's got? I'd say the same thing with Culpeper. Let's get the kids playing and see what we've got to work with next year.
  17. Time to start planning for another big sell off at the trade deadline. Hopefully they make smart trades, and for players close to MLB ready. Twins fans have suffered enough. We don't have the patience for a 5 year rebuild right now!
  18. I know it's really common nowadays for young pitchers to struggle with command, but Hill seems to have no idea where his pitches are going. Hopefully the coaches can find a way to reign him in. With his stuff he could be a K machine, but he needs to find a way to hit his spots. Anyone heard or read anything about Matt Canterino? Did he retire or get released?
  19. I am also curious about Canterino. Wasn't he supposed to be pitching again this year, or did he finally hang up the cleats after another injury?
  20. I say get a haul of near ready AAA talent for Ryan and Jeffers. Start trying to put together a competitive team for next year.
  21. I doubt we'll be able to extend him. If that's the case, the smart move would be to trade him at the deadline for a haul. Hopefully 2 top 100 prospects who are hopefully close to MLB ready. Maybe a solid SP prospect and a potential long term 1st baseman?
