    The team did nothing to improve their defense or rebuild the bullpen that was torn apart at the deadline last year. And yet they are trying to say we are going to compete this year. Total incompetence. Hopefully we get the right kind of player returns at the deadline. I'm guessing Ryan, Jeffers and maybe even Buck will be gone. If we can get some quality, near MLB ready, young athletic, controllable pieces back we might be in a better place in a year or two.

    This season should be not about chasing a wildcard spot, but debuting and assessing our prospects and young talent. They need to figure out which of our vets need to go and how many and which of our young guys are ready for everyday starts. That way in the off-season we can start to actually construct a functional roster.

    He just needs experience. He has missed so much development time due to injuries. Hopefully he can put together close to a full season of at bats and log a lot of OF innings this year.

    They should be trying to trade Jackson and Larnach for some RH relief help. We need someone who can handle the late innings and protect the rare leads we might have:)

    The roster management for this team has been terrible. At least we're trying to shop Jackson but I doubt they'll be any takers. Maybe we can package Larnach and Jackson and get some RH bullpen help. Or a legit backup SS?

    I'm just hoping for health and full seasons for these guys. Prelipp, Hill, Quick, Soto. We have some interesting arms if we can develop them right.

    Hopefully Culpeper mashes in AAA and forces a call up to the bigs. Then Lee can be our utility guy covering 2nd, SS and 3rd.

    K pepper is a real exciting player. I hope we get to see some of him in the bigs this year along with Gonzalez, Jenkins and Rodriguez.

    Abel and Bradley have looked the best so far. If they keep pitching well they should start in the rotation with Zebby being the first man up from AAA. Roden has cooled down a bit but I'd much rather see him and Martin on the team over Outman. The bullpen is where I have no clue what they're going to do...

    We have too many DH type guys on the roster. We really should have made some trades by now to better organize the roster and open some playing time for some of our top prospects.

    Hopefully he starts at AAA and keeps hitting like he has. A young controllable SS who has 20/20 potential and can hit for AVG would be HUGE!

    Abel has been lights out this Spring. If he can continue pitching like this into the regular season, we just may have another Joe Ryan on our hands:)

    You lost me at "one of the best hitters in baseball". I think this year is Wallner's last chance to prove he's our guy. With so many young OF fighting for playing time, he needs to put up those big power numbers everyone seems to think he's capable of. He should probably be a DH only at this point too...

    Just cut the K rate down and stay healthy. A full season at the top levels should give a good idea on what kind of player he can be.

    At least we had Ryan in his peak. I think when we're fighting CWS for last place at the trade deadline the conversation should be about what kind of return can we get for Ryan. Not to mention Jeffers and maybe even Buxton.

    As long as he's healthy, it was a success.

    Adams never showed much, even out of the pen. Hopefully some of these minor league signings can produce some useable arms. I'm worried our pen is going to be a disaster:(

    I think you could add Wallner to the cold list. He looks lost at the plate. With so many younger more athletic OF fighting for playing time, this might be a last chance to stick year for Wallner and Larnach. With Roden, Outman, Martin, E Rod, Jenkins and Gonzalez all eventually needing playing time, I think time is running out for those two guys. Especially since they should be dh only at this point.

    I'd be happy with him just playing the majority of the season in AAA....

    They need more RH help. I don't know why they haven't signed Kopech. With his injury history and this late in the year he could probably be had for a minor league deal. Expecting Sands or Topa to close out games is laughable. If they're trying to prove to us fans that they want to be competitive, they should sign Kopech and then trade an OF and/or Jackson for a closer.

    Versatility is nice and all, but we already have too many outfielders and not enough QUALITY infielders. If they want Keaschal to improve his 2b defense, he needs to log innings there everyday.

    This year should not be about chasing a wild ard spot, but analyzing our young talent. Find out who's ready for the bigs and where they fit on the roster. For pitchers, find out who stays in the rotation and who is best in the pen. Over the off-season, the roster needs to be better constructed and probably a lot of guys moved on from to make room for the next wave of guys like Jenkins, Rodriguez, Gonzalez, Culpeper and anyone else who looks ready. They have to move on from these big slow DH type guys who can't field for ****. Getting more athletic and aggressive style kind of guys on the team will make for a much more entertaining watch.

    I think unless Lee has a breakout year, he's destined for an infield utility role. He still has value at that position as someone who can competently cover 2nd, SS and 3rd. We really need Culpeper to continue raking and force a call up, hopefully next year.
