I don't think Wallner will make enough contact to even come close to 40 HR. It's nice to dream though...

Projecting the Twins 2026 Opening Day Roster, v. 4.0
LambchoP replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Outman out, Roden in. Would much rather see a Martin/Roden platoon in LF than see Outman or Larnach out there. Pitching wise, if Abel keeps pitching like he has this spring, then he needs a spot in the rotation. I'm very worried for our bullpen, especially from the right side. They need to sign a Kopech or someone.- 49 replies

Minnesota Twins 2026 Position Analysis: Second Base
LambchoP replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Keep Keaschal at 2nd and let him improve his defense with everyday reps. If Culpeper gets called up I think Lee would be a good utility guy who could cover 2nd, SS, and 3rd. With Lewis always being an injury risk it'd be nice to have Lee as the backup. We have more than enough outfielders, I say let him get comfortable in the infield.- 19 replies

Trusting the Process or Testing the Depth
LambchoP replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Season hasn't even started and the injuries have already begun. I think a good way for the new Pohlad to prove he wants to be competitive would be to bring in some reinforcement. Sign Giolito or Litell for the rotation and bring in Kopech to shore up the right side of the pen. At this point he could probably be had on another minor league deal- 13 replies

Larnach and Wallner may be on their last year with the Twins unless they truly break out. With Roden, Martin, Rodriguez, Gonzalez and Jenkins looking close to being ready, there is just no roster spots for them anymore. Gotta go with the higher upside, younger, more athletic guys I think.

I think they need the limited roster spot for the OF. This roster construction is already a mess, they need to clean it up and even it out, not make it worse...

Candidates for the Twins Bench in 2026
LambchoP replied to rstuedem945's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Long term, I think they need to move on from Larnach and Wallner, unless one of them can learn to play a competent first base. They need to go younger and more athletic meaning Martin and Roden in left and eventually E Rod in RF.- 22 replies

Twins Daily 2026 Top Prospects: #16-20
LambchoP replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
I hope Mendez gets plenty of 1B reps this year. His bat is intriguing, but we have too many LH OF already. Culpeper could be a fun guy to watch if he stays healthy this year, I had no idea he had that kind of velo.- 16 replies

Martin deserves a roster spot. Both Larnach and Wallner are nothing more than DH's at this point and are definitely blocking younger more exciting outfielders.

An Of of Jenkins, Rodriguez and Gonzalez is a nice idea. Now we just need some IF prospects. Culpeper should work out hopefully, but he might be another year away. I think with the way the season is likely to play out, it's time to move on from some of these redundant, defensively limited guys (Wallner, Larnach, Outman) and let the young kids play and develop.

Ken Rosenthal Says Twins Could Sell, But Timing Matters

I'm guessing they will trade away anyone not nailed down or injured at the deadline this year when we're in last place.- 7 replies

I wouldn't mind a platoon of Roden and Martin in LF. Outman shouldn't even be in the conversation and I think Larnach best serves the team as a trade candidate. Trade him for either a reliever or a legit backup IF who can play SS.

I have to believe Kopech could be had real cheap or even on a minor league deal at this point with Spring training under way. We should be set with 4 lefties, but we definitely still need some better arms from the right side. Signing Kopech and then picking up a legit late inning veteran in a trade would at least help. Plus, we need to clean up this horrible roster construction. Way to many DH's, far too many LH outfielders, no legit infielders and not much of a bullpen. This needs to be addressed.

I'm curious what kind of a haul we could get for Ryan, Jeffers and Buxton. I think if we get young, controllable near MLB ready talent in return, the Twins may only be a year or two away from relavence. I think this year will be a testing year to see what we've got as far as our top offensive prospects go. Jenkins, Rodriguez, Gonzalez, Culpeper, Fedko, Rosario etc. could add guys like Bradley, Abel, Rojas to that list. If we trade Ryan we need some top level pitching prospects to rebuild the rotation. Thinking guys like Early from Bosox or Tong or the other guy from NYM....

I'm expecting another massive sell off at the deadline. Best we can hope for is young, MLB or near MLB ready talent in exchange for Ryan, Buxton and Jeffers.
