  1. Wow, seasons over before it even begins. Guess we should've traded him lol.
  2. Looks like we have 4 lefties for the pen. We need a late inning righty though. Can we get Kopech cheap, or on a minor league deal?
  3. I wonder what they would give us for Larnach and Jackson. Just getting rid of those two would help clean up our log jammed 26 msn roster. We still need MLB late inning relief pitchers. I know we just got Banda and a few minor league signings, but it's not enough to be competitive yet.
  4. As the roster looks now, F. We knew going into the off-season they needed to completely rebuild the pen, which they haven't done. Our horrible defense from last year has actually gotten worse. We will be battling CHI for last place in the AL Central I'm guessing:(
  5. If he has a good spring I wouldn't mind seeing a platoon of him and Martin in LF. At least until Jenkins, Rodriguez or Gonzalez are ready. Outman has no business in the big leagues unless he has completely reworked his swing, which would be hard to believe.
  6. I'm just wondering if any spring training games will be available to watch on MLB.tv?
  7. For this bullpen to even be passable, we need to sign a veteran MLB arm and then trade for another veteran MLB arm. We need someone to cover the late innings and close out games. I like the Rogers pick up, but he's no closer anymore. Festa, Prelipp or any of our other starters who will be turning to relief guys could work out, but I think it'll take some time to settle into that role.
  8. Adding Festa and Zebby to the pen could really help out our weak relief corps. I'd still give him another few months to see if he can make it as a starter. Twins need to decide between Zebby, Bradley and Abel on who will start and who gets moved to relief. Should be an interesting spring training to see what they do with the pitching staff.
  9. I'd rather see Martin in LF over Roden, Outman or Larnach. If he can keep his OBP high enough like last year and be a base stealer at the top of the lineup while playing solid OF defense, give him a shot. He's earned it.
  10. Jackson doesn't fit on the roster without a minor league option. They'll probably try to trade him for cash in spring training. Twins need a viable backup mlb catcher that they can stash in St Paul as injury replacement, or depth for when we inevitably trade Jeffers at the deadline.
  11. We still need some stability in the pen. Rogers was a decent start. Wouldn't mind trading for one arm, especially if the trade gets rid of a logjam of DH type outfielders. Then signing someone like Kopech could be good. I'd say Festa to the pen along with Rogers, a trade acquisition and one free agent could make us competitive (in our division).
  12. Good move, especially for only 2 million. Now go out and get Dominguez. I still think Larnach could bring back a decent reliever too.
  13. I think Larnach best serves the team by trading him for a young high upside relief pitcher. Then they take the 3.5 million they saved in the deal and sign another reliever. They've done basically nothing to rebuild our pathetic bullpen and until that's dealt with, we aren't competing anytime soon.
  14. Still waiting for the team to do something, ANYTHING about our bullpen. Every day more and more relievers come off the board. If we seriously go into '26 with a pen of AAA starters turning relievers and waiver wire minor league pickups, we cannot expect to win many games. Our atrocious defense will make all these pitchers worse as well....
  15. Maybe we can trade Jackson for a young controllable reliever. Maybe package him with one of our LH hitting OF'ers and get a late inning guy. Either way, some trades need to be made in order to rebalance this roster.
  16. I think they know we'll be out of contention at the deadline and this signing allows us to trade Jeffers a little easier. Any money that is left over NEEDS to go to relievers though. SerAnthony would be a good pickup. They need to do something because the FA relief market is closing up quick. I'd also like to see a few trades. Clean up our roster and get rid of some redundant position players to improve our relief corps, which is the worst part of our team easily.
  17. We just need these guys to finally get some innings, not keep dropping like flies with major injuries like it seems all our top prospects do.
  18. I don't understand the signing of Bell. At best he'll hit what, .250 with 20 HR? How is that any different than Larnach, who we just gave like 6 million. Sounds like a move just to say they are trying to compete when really they know we are a last place team and are probably looking at another huge sell off at the deadline. Imagine the near MLB, high minors talent we can acquire by trading away Lopez, Ryan, Jeffers and maybe Buxton. We would no doubt have the most stacked and best rated minor league system in baseball. They just need to be SMART with the trades, which is hard for this organization to do....
  19. I truly think they should've just finished what they started last year and traded away what's left of the roster. We're not competing this year, it's clear they are not serious about adding real talent. They should have just traded Ryan Lopez Jeffers and Buxton and loaded up on AA, AAA talent. The next two years will be auditions for the future. This halfway, in-between crap is what keeps us from ever getting better.
  20. Sure, Castro would be good depth, but any money we have left to spend needs to go towards our bullpen. They've done almost nothing to address that black hole yet...
  21. I still say the catcher we got in the rule 5 draft, Susac?, would have been a legit backup catcher. Had great AAA numbers for OAK. Much better than the automatic out that is Jackson. Can anyone explain why we grabbed Susac who would've helped this year, just to immediately dump him for a teenage catcher years and years from contributing? This team seemingly has no idea what they are doing, it really is sad and frustrating as a fan...
  22. Zebby's got good stuff. Actually really gook K/BB numbers, he just gives up too much contact. If they can tweak his pitch mix and get a bit better at location I think he can be a solid mid rotation starter for a lot of years. I think they should trade Over and Larnach for bullpen help. Festa should make the transition to reliever along with Raya and maybe Prelipp. But, relying on three rookies and a couple mid level guys like Sands, Topa and the new guy is going to be a disaster. Any lead we might be able to get will be given right back. Every day I see more and more relievers signed and yet the Twins are sitting on their hands. Do they have a plan? If they do it's "wait until spring training until everyone has signed who they want. See who is left and then sign them for dirt cheap while they are desperate for a contract."
  23. What this team needs is a legitimate, long term first baseman. One who can hit, hit for power and play respectable defense. As we don't have any potential solutions in the minors, we're going to have to trade for one eventually. This year to year one year signings of has been is getting kind of old....
  24. I would trade one of our redundant LH corner outfielders before I started trading away pitching. Of course most of those guys don't have much in the way of trade value other than Larnach, who should be traded for bullpen help
