  1. Probably have to win the next 3 series' to have a chance. Good bounce back series overall, but they have to build on it in Chicago.
  2. They played all 27 outs today . . . just forgot about the extra 9
  3. The only questions I am concerned about right now are Can he stay healthy and can he play CF. After that, we have to give him a lot of time.
  4. Twins have never lost (4-0) when Gabriel Gonzalez is on the major league team!
  5. A couple of thougts on this. a). Taylor Rogers has been what the Twins wanted from him. He hasn't been flashy, but he is the only member of the bullpen who has been there the whole year. b). I would have put Zebby Matthews number 1 or 2 on this list because he is a starting pitcher and he kind of carried the rotation in August with Ryan out. c). The Twins deadline acquisitions apart from Hoffman have been great. Neither Nance or Minter were flashy pick-ups, but they were both veteran pitchers who have had success and have fully delivered for the Twins. Nance is under team control until 2029, but I would love to see the Twins resign Minter for next year. They need Lefty relievers and he has been good for a really long time.
  6. Interesting fact: After last nights game, Taj Bradley moved up to 7th in baseball in SOs. The 6 pitchers ahead of him are Jacob Misiorowski, Dylan Cease, Gavin Williams, Jesus Luzardo, Christopher Sanchez, and Cam Schlittler. Pretty good company.
  7. I know some people weren't big fans of the Twins September call-ups, but I liked them. Acton provides some long relief depth and was pitching really well at AAA and Ben Ross is a utility guy who plays an above average shortstop and can play anywhere on the diamond. It is exciting to see the Twins having 4 rookies in Jenkins, Culpepper, Gonzalez, and Ross all on their offensive roster.
  8. 3.5 half back with 24 to go isn't unattainable. It will be really hard with four teams to pass, but there is enough of a chance to make me care about games in September which is a definite win for me.
  9. Root for wins because a). Losing Sucks and b). It's a lottery, not a direct correlation, so even if they drop behind a team, there is still a chance they can get a higher pick through chance
  10. So if you are going to be bad, make sure you are very bad.
  11. The Twins top 3 batting average leaders* are Gabriel Gonzalez, Walker Jenkins, and Kaalen Culpepper. Neither of the three have had enough at-bats to be anywhere near qualifying, but it is interesting. Alex Jackson is number 4 FWIW. *do not qualify
  12. Even if they are not going to make the playoffs, it was worth it to call up Jenkins. They needed to get him some major league experience, and he seems well up to the task. Now let's extend him and lock him up for a long time.
