    They're probably not selling Gray or Chapman if they keep winning. Detroit is also on a roll. Both teams have the fire power to be in the playoffs.

    good defense leads to good results. I'll admit their record is much better than I thought it would be at this point of the season.

    My optimism has a split personality. I want them to win every game I watch, which is most of them but I want them to trade the Ryans so the team is probably better in the upcoming years. This team is not a serious contender for the world series even with the Ryans. As my grandma used to say, 6 of 1 and a half dozen of the other. I can't have it both ways. Or can I? Detroit, a couple of years back traded one of their starting pitchers and then went on a torrid win streak, maybe the Twins can catch the same lightening in a bottle? After all they have a much better record than I predicted at the beginning of the season.

    Not counting todays game, the Twins are currently 47-49. This spring I thought they would be where the Royals reside at 38-58. I guess the front office knows more than I do about baseball or they got lucky. Whichever way it is I'll enjoy being wrong. I hate playing the 'if only' game in hindsight but a little better effort to shore up the bullpen and the Twins could easily be in first place the the Central Division.
