Removing Buxton and Correa after 3 innings is a head scratcher.

Was he waving the white flag or was he sending some sort of message to the troops?

Without any inside knowledge, I am going to speculate that the decision was 100% based on the fact that it was cold and we were losing by a bunch. Which is really incomprehensible considering the two guys are hitting a combined .071. You’d think they’d love to get some ABs against journeyman Martin Perez. But it’s absolutely par for the course for our team management.

being the stars and veterans of the team, you think that they would have enough juice to keep themselves in the game if they wanted to. But did they? Quite frankly, I’m ready to move on from both.

On the bright side, sooner to bottom out, sooner you can start climbing.

Can’t help but wonder if the new spring training was actually received as enthusiastically as was reported.

One would certainly hope so, even though I don't expect it to happen.

I'm kind of glad that I didn't have an opportunity to experience yet another dreadful performance.  Yuk doesn't even begin to describe this hot mess of a team.

the twins have not it made convincing of purchasing the Twins streaming service yet.  Had the game trak on bottom of second with sox scoring. looked back like seemed a couple of minutes bottom of third with sox scoring.  was thinking they were only playing the bottom of the innings for the home field.

I'm one who is not concerned about 4 losses. 4 losses in a row is not uncommon or the end of the world or season. You lace up your shoes and try again tomorrow. But you also don't pull two of your starters out of the game in the 4th inning. This isn't ST. If it was to send a message that's ridiculous. A simple word in the ear along the lines of, "you guys are part of the 9-0 hole we are in. Now get out on the field and battle. We don't get to quit."

I've been touting this for 3 years now... I'm sure he is a perfectly good person and will find a nice home in a front office....

BUT he is not an in-game strategist, nor tactician.

MOST importantly, he is NOT a leader of men.  (are we sure that Buck and Correa have not quit on him already?)

He'll never manage another MLB team.  No team is looking to swoop him up.

End it now or end it later, but make no mistake about it, the end is inevitable this year

I realize this comment will get smashed right now, but Rocco isn't responsible for the performances of Lopez, Wallner, Correa, Buxton, France.

Starting Paddack was not really his call either (more FO).  He didn't look good, but they needed innings from him today, so he was going to throw 80 pitches good or bad.

The only thing I feel Rocco blew was keeping Ober in so long yesterday.  He was sick, should never have gotten out of the 2nd inning. Pulling Correa/Buxton today was also wrong.

So, what exactly has Rocco brought to the table that would be missed?

Yes, what, other than the Bomba Squad and FINALLY winning a playoff series?  He should have been gone after the end of last season at the very latest.

But sitting your two top players  in the 4th inning gave the team the message that they can quit. Rocco better figure out how to rectify this one, and soon. Did they need to sit because it was cold? I worked all day out in the chilly weather. Once your working it's out of the mind. If the same isn't the case for Buck and Correa then they aren't players.

well, a hit is a hit. but he also had 2 walks. perfectly acceptable day for Jeffers. No complaints about Gasper drawing 2 as well. Thanks, Willi for getting another hit.

Everyone else go back to your hotel room and think about what you failed to do...

Jeffers had quality at bats. Didn’t chase anything outside the zone to draw the two walks. 1st at bat was very high fly ball onto warning track. Slight elevation change on that trajectory would have been 1-0 twins in the first. Dribbler happens to even out hard hit balls that are outs, so good with his effort.

Button only at bat was to swing at first pitch for a ground ball out to start the game. 1stmpitchnof game and you swing you better not make and out.

Correa had to talk about not worried about spring training results went he went 0-for,  I guess when you are pulling in $30+MM, results be damned.

Julien proves he can’t field. Now field may have been sloppy but he still made an error.

always tomorrow, go twins

He must have really wanted to get some at bats from keirsey and Julien /s

and like, Byron and Carlos were set to bat in the top of the 4th when they were pulled. What sense could it possibly have made to just not let them bat??? I had coaches who would do silly stuff like that…in high school..

I'm still excited about the youth but sending them up into a cesspool like this might damage their development.

Yea a Winokur-Eeles-Correa-Keaschall infield would be fun..

What makes it more fun than Lee - CC - Keaschall - Lewis? That’s my hope for June!
