I wish the Rocco era would come to an end asap.   It certainly wouldn't fix all the problems, but it's the lowest hanging fruit.

Can't happen soon enough for me. Other than an occasional rant at an umpire (that now that I think about it I don't think I've seen in a long time) the guy shows no emotions, no interest, no spark, it's almost like he's not there. The Twins need a presence at the helm. Without that there really isn't a ship.

He must have really wanted to get some at bats from keirsey and Julien /s

and like, Byron and Carlos were set to bat in the top of the 4th when they were pulled. What sense could it possibly have made to just not let them bat???

They play 15 more straight days w/o a day off. Down 9-0 starting the 4th, he decided the 2 guys that need rest at some point, to stay fresh, should sit the rest of the day. Sound Management.

Larnach & Wallner will be ready to go Tuesday & the #2 & #3 hitters got the majority of the day off as well.

What makes it more fun than Lee - CC - Keaschall - Lewis? That’s my hope for June!

You can't spell Eeles without Lee?

I had to edit my comment. They have a scheduled off day this Friday after having just had one last Friday. That excuse holds no water for me

Correa had to talk about not worried about spring training results went he went 0-for,  I guess when you are pulling in $30+MM, results be damned.

Correa has proven he is good and defense and CAN get the clutch hits but since signing his big contract he doesn't very often or often enough. I don't know what goes on the field or in the clubhouse but I wonder if he isn't trying too hard to earn that salary, trying to be be THE team leader. I wish he'd stop and just play as a team member not a team leader.

Not buying that. Overlooking the fact that they are 1 for the season at the plate, are Byron and Carlos going to play the 15 straight days, each game, all game? Doubt it. Didn’t they just have an off day Friday? Come on.

According to my schedule this Friday is also an off date. Not buying that one either. Gamers play. If Buxton and Correa can't play out a 9-0 game they contributed to then it's time for them to move on.

Yeah I forgot they had one built in for the home opener. I don’t think this is even a conversation if they were pulled in the 7/8 inning. And not even from a “hey we can still come back!” standpoint. That wasn’t happening.

In your relentless quest to defend Rocco you could at least endeavor to get simple facts correct.

Absolutely, late inning subs in a blowout is normal. Further if you want Kiersey and Julien to get game time then put them in the lineup tomorrow from the get go and let them have at it. They may even provide a spark.

Who they gonna sell? Some players are gonna have to start performing for there to be interest in this pile of garbage.

Looks like our top trade pieces are Dobber and McGaughey (you spell it).

I kind of feel like it's almost pointless getting rid of him before the team is sold

1) The team may not be sold this year, or for a long time yet. How long do you want this style of play to continue?

2) The Twins have young players who need proper development and coaching right now.

3) It is never pointless to fire an underperforming leader. Not doing so sends a message that higher levels of achievement simply aren't expected.

Deep breath!

"Come on Byron, 4 disappointing games to begin the season but 158 more to go. This offense isn't THIS BAD. The offensive talent isn't THIS BAD. This team isn't THIS BAD. A 4 game losing streak sucks at any time, but we've got a long way to go. Deep breaths! Don't panic."

That's all I got at the moment.

I have a feeling that Jayce Tingler would be named interim manager if Rocco was fired.

Tingler was fired from the Padres job for the same reason Rocco is on the hot seat, underperforming team and too much commitment to the IPAD and statistics.

Not sure if that would be an upgrade or just a lateral move.

Totally disagree. What makes you think Rocco hasn't already scheduled off days for the 2 players, that get babied more than any others on this team, if there was 15 straight days? Which there isn't. What they need when they are floundering like they are is, at bats. I haven't ever seen a player get better or get back in a groove by sitting on the bench. I think they are getting PAID TO PLAY, not ride the pine.

Is it fair to question if the FO never intended to compete this year, and brought Rocco back so they wouldn’t saddle a new guy with a roster they knew would be bad?

As a person who is never quick to pull the trigger on a manager or head coach solely due to their won-loss record,  I feel that it is evident that Rocco Baldelli should be shown the door as manager of the Minnesota Twins. After watching his entire tenure, it is my opinion that he is a poor in-game manager who has no idea how to motivate players. His leadership style is so passive that there is never any sense of urgency, just a "stay the course" attitude that constantly prevails, even in the throws of last fall's disastrous tailspin. In his post-game comments today, he stated that with the score the way it was, it was important for Buxton & Correa to "get off their feet" as if it were the dog days of August instead of the season's fourth game. Yes, from a very logical point of view maybe pulling them made some sense because it is a long year, but it definitely sent the wrong message at the wrong time. I felt for certain that last year's late-season collapse would be the impetus to finally give Rocco the axe, and I was certainly hoping that would occur, but apparently Twins fans are stuck with more of his poor managing that we have already had to suffer through for years. It would just be sad if it wasn't so infuriating.

But sitting your two top players  in the 4th inning gave the team the message that they can quit. Rocco better figure out how to rectify this one, and soon. Did they need to sit because it was cold? I worked all day out in the chilly weather. Once your working it's out of the mind. If the same isn't the case for Buck and Correa then they aren't players.

Just like left right platooning. Rocco has pulled Correa and Buxton in every blowout they've been involved in. I mentioned it a couple years ago. Waving the white flag is never good. But this is not anything new.
