    I said before, he is way too athletic to be such a bad defensive "finisher". Looks great getting into the general area to make plays. He then instantly looks like he just woke up for the 1st time ever on a baseball diamond!!! BOOM, everything goes completely to ...pot. (needed a non-obscenity, none came to mind) He is way too good of an athlete to be so regularly bad in the field.

    Nolan Ryan would recommend pickle brine for blister management. If you think that sounds bad, remember that his remedy was a replacement for "pi$$ on it" (literally).

    The bullpen should be better, but that isn't much of a bar to clear! Do like the additions, but love that there wasn't some insane bidding war for what they acquired. One "top" prospect going out, and a starter and 2 BP arms coming in isn't too bad.

    That is how ya' get the best record in baseball!

    He needs some consistency. His highs are otherworldly, but rare. His lows are bafflingly bad and all too common. I have some hope left that he can play at a star level, but six month hiatuses in any sort of productive play makes it hard.

    I've seen very few players look so athletic getting near to a ball in play, and so unathlethic when he's there!

    150 IP as a career high, but will take front-of-the-rotation package to get him. HUGE injury risk based on his history. Intriguing, but not worth it. And a moot point now, anyway!

    How much would YOU give up for Larnach? Even this year's version? Yeah.

    Cus he is bad behind the plate!!! Unfortunately, he is the best option on this roster, so...

    Pretty sure the Twins are happy with the return, as are the Tampa'ers. And we can say "Tampa" and "trade" without the first thought being "Delmond Young". That in itself makes it all worthwhile!

    It is not as bad as the Google ad featuring "baseball sounds" that does nothing but transport me back to covid baseball for a minute (not just 30 seconds)!

    Relief pitchers are failed starters. As of yet, he is not a failed starter.

    The legit ceiling for him is competence. Catch balls he can get to and hit the cutoff man. He isn't ever going to have good range (but he can minimize his missteps) and his arm will never rate better than acceptable (again, minimal mistakes on throws can mitigate a weak arm). I can handle that if he's hitting a bit. He doesn't have Wallner's physical gifts. He also doesn't have Wallner's head.

    In re Wallner: Just because you were willing to date Raquel Welsh did nothing to increase those odds. Wallner gets released. That is his end. A trade is just as likely as that date at the Copacabana with Ms. Welsh because you are willing!

    One was an all-star game shortstop. Only once, but... a little bit of a difference from a guy who can't start on a poor to middling team. I can't see anyone offering much of anything for Clemens. Not enough positive history. That said, somebody overpays at the deadline for anybody. May be Clemens this year. Doubtful, but possible.

    I troll the Brewers site on occasion, and this story literally started on a "Who would you like the Brewers to get?" page. Not even a bloggers idea, but a Wisconsin fan's fever dream.

    I'd just add that he should be getting his time with the same SS - whoever that may be. The combination is second only to pitchers and catchers in the meshing needed to improve. Keystone Combo, and whatnot.

    Just need another BP arm to cover for "starter" who will be even less likely to provide any length. Poor 5th starters almost cost one reliever to cover them. Add a full reliever needed to piggyback an even worse guy. And now you're looking at almost 2 full BP spots because you have NO length for a third of your rotation. Have one of your 4 "front of the rotation" guys go 3+ and you need to look for "arm fatigue" or other nebulous "injury" to reset your bullpen and roster. Unless you want more roster moves based solely on available options, just forget this roster destroying "idea".
