  1. Hey, old man! Your opinion is fact. There are 4 worse CFs the Twins have played this year. Want to talk about bad OFs? How about Wallner and his 151st best OF arm? Bet you didn't know you could be 151st on any MLB OF list... (which, by the way ranks him 7 places behind Larnach!)
  2. Well, this Iowegian thinks "failure" looks a lot like a Minnesota "C"!
  3. Sad, but true. Even sadder is the seeming rush to "fix" this team with one-tool potential types...
  4. Since he didn't (again) stay healthy, he didn't answer the one question attached to him...
  5. Well, at least we have that vaunted "pitching pipeline" going...
  6. However you describe Buxton is your own deal. To say he "runs like a maniac" makes me think you've never seen him play though. Smooooooooth long strides that eat up the distance as easily as a loping deer is hardly maniacal! Miguel Sano ran like a maniac. 100% effort on the running and 0% chance of doing anything productive when he got "there".
  7. He's a gamer. Versatile. Heck, he might even be "clutch". What he ain't is an everyday player. Let alone at a premium offensive position. I get that there needs to be "content" or there isn't much of a reason for the site, but come on!
  8. Some people seem to think that bat speed is a stat just like hits or runs... I've got some boob on here telling me repeatedly, absolutely convinced, that Matt Wallner is an elite hitter. Not based on his .22something batting average, or 18!!! homer's and 35 RBIs. But because of his swing speed. Good hitters hit, not just swing hard. Would you want a 3 time batting champ (consecutively) with a "bad" swing speed or Mr. 35 RBIs and his "elite" bat speed? Not even a question worth asking...
  9. Until the fabled "pitching pipeline" looks like something other than a sewer pipe, you don't trade decent starting pitching at all. And you sure AF don't trade good starting pitching! Discussion over.
  10. I'd like to ask Mr. Genius Manfred which idea is the failure. This year's balanced schedule which was posited as the only way to make the schedule "fair", or the future plan to realign the divisions to cut down on travel? One or the other... can't have both! Give Manfred a Mussolini send-off before he irretrievably ruins this great game!!!!
  11. Not mentioned here, and a couple of years since he donned the Twins jersey, but... Kenta Maeda has announced his intention to end his career in the Nipon(ese) Baseball League, and 2025 will be his last in America. Just going to take a second here and give him a big "Thanks for the memories" from at least on Minny fan. High quality starting pitching is rare and the Twins acquiring it in its prime is almost unheard of. I for one enjoyed the living hel.... I became a big fan. Best of luck with your homecoming!!!
  12. Fire Rocco from a cannon. Mended that fence for ya'.
  13. Heck, back to back exciting games. Even if they first didn't go as hoped. Might just have to change my "Julien in the lineup means no game today" rule!
  14. 47 RBIs (170 ABs) versus 35 RBIs (279 ABs) says he's 33% more productive in 60% of his at bats. Not similar. Not even in the same ballpark.
  15. Give every GM a choice- Wallner or Stanton. I'll even give you that they must be paid as per their current contract. One man may choose Wallner. Maybe. Even with the disparity in pay. Even with Stanton being a broken down shell of his former self. Unfortunately that man is named Derrick Falvey.
  16. "A good player"... Bad at every facet (hitting for contact -awful, glove - far below average, arm so slow that it grades out below everyone, slow and bad base runner) but has 18 HR to go with his amazing 35 RBIs. Sounds "good" to me!!!
  17. Can't run. Bad instincts. Bad arm - strong, but incredibly slow to get going. And to top it off a K-prone, one-dimenional unproductive hitter. Gallo- like for a multitude of reasons...
  18. 0% chance of succeeding. Somebody (quite a few somebodys!) will offer actual parts for a contender. A failed (at least so far) starter and a prospect might be enough with Lopez or Ryan. Ain't nobody giving a all-star caliber catcher for peanuts - short or long-term.
  19. God, bullpens are fun! Kill all relief pitchers: it is good for your long-term mental health...
  20. You don't take fillet mingon and turn it into hamburger. And then use said hamburger in hamburger helper!
  21. So we are supposed to be looking forward to our undisputed number one prospect, a center fielder, making it in LF???? Those sorts of hopes and dreams have the unmistakable stink of Falvey, with an added dash of Rocco tactical idiocy!
