  1. So when it looked like Justin Ishbia was the interested party in BUYING the Twins, most of the posts said how quickly things would move if the sale went through. 🤔 Now the Twins have some limited partners and its dragging on and on. Sounds like Pohlads doing Pohlad deals. Their limited partners must be NUTS. The Pohlads will use that money to pay down the debt the Twins have. How much say will they have in the operation of the Twins? Sounds like a Bernie Madoff type deal.
  2. The answer to why they kept Falvey is simple. Him and Joe are tied at the hip. He's the current St. Peter.
  3. Nothing again Lee. But Lindor is a real SS. Thats a ridiculous comparison. Lee can hit. He falls behind a lot and winds up with weak contact. Just putting the ball in play is better than striking out. So in that sense you might say Lee was unlucky. I dont. Its obviously something he needs to work on. The one thing I keep hearing about Lee is how baseball smart he is because his dad's a manager. Lee makes more boneheaded mistakes than any Twin not named Martin. In addition to that. Hes slower than every Twin except Vasquez.
  4. Just for the hell of it, I went back and looked at Derek Sheltons press conference when he was hired by the Pirates. Although not identical, they were very similar. Preaching fundamentals, no talk of a rebuild, exciting young players coming from the farm system. Oh and the focal point was to have fun.
  5. Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss. We wont get fooled again. Maybe
  6. Could the Twins bring back Chritian Vasquez? Yes. The question should be, will they or should they. All depends on the dollars and the direction they're taking.
  7. Is that what I said? Rube. Your post was in regards to how many of the top spenders made the post season. 5 of 8 made it. Thats over 60%. So then I see how you said 3 out of the 9 lowest made it as well. So since YOU made it the top 8. Its only 7 out of the 22 other teams that got in. There are always going to be younger teams. Like the Tigers or Guardians or Twins or Royals or the Orioles who make it. Teams with a Skubal or a Witt or a Gunderson/Holiday/Rutschman.who wont be there much longer and who have a short window. Because they wont pay the big bucks. The big spenders will be there most of the time on a regular basis. How many consecutive years have the Yankees and Dodgers been in the postseason? 2 teams occupying 16% of the spots nearly every year. I'm not spending anyone's money but if i could I would want have those teams budgets. Mr know it all. There's always going to be just 1 winner. And this year its the biggest spender of them all.
  8. Those walks didn't cost them, this time.
  9. Always the negative waves Moriarty.
  10. Thats like the 5th time this series. Its crazy
  11. While this has been one of the more exciting WS in a while there has been a lot of BAD baseball. Dodgers have been kicking the ball all over giving the Blue Jays extra outs. With RISP they've looked as bad as the Twins. While the Blue Jays have ran into multiple outs on the bases and literally go station to station on every hit. So they're ultra conservative and reckless at the same time.
  12. Well you noticed the thumbs down but overlooked the rebuttal. If you would have read it you could answer your own question. Just my opinion but I read your rock solid opinions every day.
  13. Totally disagree. If the Twins made a Butera or Vitello type hire, that would have raised eyebrows. A Suzuki or Hunter type hire from former players with Twins ties as well. I'm not saying what long term effects they'd have since no one really knows the direction Twins FO goes. But they'd have folks interested initially.
  14. That may be a great question. But Falvey might not let a manager pick his own staff. I dont believe Rocco had that luxury.
  15. I dont really have a problem with anyone. My only question is if Derek Shelton wasn't good enough to get hired when Baldelli was, how come he may be good enough now after Baldelli is fired? That would be admitting you may have made a mistake. No?
  16. Guerrero and Varsho both were froze. Last pitch they were expecting out of Yamamotos arsenal.
  17. Better late than never. I've noticed one thing in the post season. The Blue Jays go station to station a ton. Its something thats complained about here on Twins Daily regarding Twins baserunners. The main difference is the Jays string a lot base hits. Yamamoto hung 2 curve balls and got out of a jam.
  18. I agree for the most part, except the part where he's not intentionally putting a losing team on the field. When he traded every relevant bullpen arm at the trade deadline. That alone tells anyone that they weren't in it for winning in 25. Now if those trades pay dividends in the future, one can say it was genius. I dont see that happening with what the Twins got in return. Thats a different topic. Yet he will be the one with the most say on hiring the next Twins manager.
  19. In 2023 the Twins played .500 ball most of the season. Never more than 6 games over.500 They got hot at the end of August and Cleveland wilted. So the crowds didn't really come until the last month of the year. Thats why they only drew 100,000 more than the previous year.
  20. "Don't bet on Winokur but, really, dont bet against him." So really, just dont bet then. That way you can't be wrong.
  21. " maybe better playing outfield" This is a theme that has been going on for at least the past 5 seasons with multiple players. I'm not picking on Winokur. But this mentality has to stop. If he can't play SS then dont play him there. Find out if he can handle the outfield and develop him there going forward. He's tall. Either start playing him in the OF on a daily basis or 1b but the Twins do this moving around to multiple positions where they become adequate at best but fluid at no one position.
