OK. Give Byron the C. Hes the leader in the clubhouse already so it would be totally symbolic. Byron is so low key but when he needs to he voices his displeasure. And the players take note. A story i was told was that players were being careless and breaking iPads and Byron got pissed because the prevailing attitude was simply if one got broke it would just be replaced. He basically was telling them to grow up. The players were like soldiers going through basic training. Sir yes sir.
You left a lot of good players off your list of teams with mvp caliber players. Phillies, no Harper. Dodgers, no Freeman. Cubs, no Tucker. Padres, no Machado. Mets. How about Alonso? But I get your point
You made a list that excluded Guerrero nearly 600 AB but includes Seager with less than 400 AB due to injury. If you want to put Buxton in the top 10 thats fine. But the list should be based on stats not name recognition.
So if Posey thinks he's not right for the Giants then he's not right for the Twins? Because Buster Posey is suddenly the best GM in baseball. Based on what? The fact that he was a catcher. He hasn't proven anything yet. He's still learning.
The potential for injury to ANY player or organization is the same. Its not unique to the Twins organization. It just seems like that because we're focused on the Twins on a daily basis. If Buxton doesn't get concussed this season he would have played in 140 games. No one would have guessed that with his history he'd play as many games as he did this year. Of course the good Dr is going to tell us it was Twins negligence as to why these injuries happen.
I'm not disagreeing. Just pointing out that the Guardians lineup and bench is not clearly superior and that the Twins aren't that far off. Changes need to be made. But I don't believe they're in complete disarray.
But they're in the postseason. And yesterday they faced Skrewball. And I pointed all that out. Defense has been bad. Baserunning too. But they're in the postseason. Did I mention? They're in the postseason. And just like that, they punch across 5. Once you're in, anything can happen
Watching Tigers vs Guardians. All this doomsday Twins suck gibberish. Tell me outside of Kwan and Ramirez, which Guardian starts for the Twins? And this is their weakest defensive team they've had in a while. Sure they'll have trouble manufacturing runs. But they did have enough to make the postseason. So how far are off are the Twins?
If there were a pitching pipeline, why was there such a HUGE drop-off after the trade deadline fire sale? Wouldn't a pipeline fill that void without skipping a beat. The Twins bullpen hasn't been an issue for Falvey since 22 or whenever he made that statement.
True. But it was the back injury that forced him to retire. He didn't want the risk of being a broken down man by the age of 40. Great humble young man.
