    Agree with this but we should have then strengthened our rotation with getting someone like Detmers, Soriano or Hancock/Kirby. I just don't think our rotation is good enough for a team looking to get into the play offs.

    I like this trade but feel Zoll should have done more to address the rotation and maybe added a bat as well. I feel good about the BP now though. But I really feel we should have gone out and got a Soriano or Detmers. It all feels a little half hearted.

    I do think one of Houston or Culpepper should be considered for trade. Probably Culpepper. Whether it's for Greene or another controllable SP.

    Gomez needs to cut down the number of walks he gives up. 2 free passes in the bottom of the 9th is not ideal. Having said that, he worked his way out of it. Matthews settled nicely after a rough start. Great to be over .500!

    Just read that apparently Clemens is the 2nd player in MLB history to hit 3 HR's in a game, record a strikeout as a pitcher and hit an ultimate GS. The other player.....Babe Ruth. 😆

    Solid move. Didn't give up anyone of note and we get a decent left handed reliever. Good to see us making moves early - definitely suggests we're going to be aggressive over the next few days.

    Cash. That's all it took to get Clemens. Thank you Phillies. What a moment, what a swing. Down to the last strike as well facing a LHP. One of the biggest moments at Target Field that's going to live long in the memory. Not a very well played series by the Twins but got out of it with a series win and a 4-2 home stand. Big series coming up in Seattle.

    Twins have to add pitching. Add a couple of relievers and a starter via trade and we have a great shot of making the play offs. Put Buck back on the IL and get him back to where he was before the All Star break. Time for Jenkins to show what he can do.

    I think that would end up backfiring for them as I do think we'll get an offer for Jeffers that we can't refuse, quite possibly from the Yankees in that situation. And then we won't be trading Caratini.

    TBH Tampa Bay will probably refuse to trade any pitchers to us as they are sick and tired of watching them flourish for the Twins. 😁

    This was my thinking before I saw your post as well. If Hancock is indeed available there's an obvious trade to make there.

    This might be unpopular but I would trade Larnach now while his stock is high. Gives Roden more game time and we have Jenkins waiting at AAA.

    The best inning pitched by Rogers by a mile this season. Intentionally walking Ramirez was an obvious move but you couldn't then let DeLauter reach and load the bases with no outs. 3-2 count and he threw a perfectly located pitch that clipped the corner of the strike zone. Turned out to be a massive moment. Bradley excellent again, keeping the Twins in the game against a dealing Williams. Great to steal a win from a division rival - Guardians will be very cross they didn't win that. A 3-4 record from that 7 game road trip is fine - would have taken that before it started last week. Now we need to back it up with a strong homestand against the A's and Royals minus Witt.

    Why would Jeffers sign a QO though? I see zero reasons for him to do so. By trading Jeffers I think we'd get more in return even as a rental and we can either keep Caratini to the end of his contract or trade him at next years deadline because I think Lackey won't need to be in the minors long.
