UK Twin's Achievements

  1. For me, right now we shouldn't even be talking about trading anyone away. It should be about who we can acquire to strengthen our BP. After all we are in touching distance of both the WC spots and the AL Central summit. The White Sox and Guardians have plenty of flaws so we should be aiming to add, not take away.
  2. In the amount of at bats that approximately make up a regular season he's hit 30 HR's and driven in 80. I'd call that sustainable.
  3. Still don't know what to make of this year's Twins! I think we'd have all taken 35-40 when the season started but we could easily be over .500 as well. Really happy to see the reset Lewis had at AAA seems to have done the trick. Could be a huge player in the 2nd half of the season. I noticed that the series finale is Thursday and not Wednesday - presumably due to England playing Croatia in Dallas on Wedneday afternoon?
  4. We're inconsistent but we don't have much trouble scoring runs - we're second in the AL in runs scored!
  5. 1 unearned run don't forget. That came in extra's with the runner starting on 2nd and that run didn't matter with a 3 run lead.
  6. Joe Ryan doing Joe Ryan things is to be expected. Didn't mind the call for him to pitch the 8th with a fairly low pitch count and going well. BP stood up and delivered. Gomez looks a decent pick up and both Banda and Rogers have settled in after rough starts to the season. Brooks Lee is clutch with the bases loaded! Great swing on an 0-2 count. Caratini is a mess at the plate right now. Give Jackson more game time.
  7. The first part of my post was more tongue in cheek after being written off by literally every single media outlet.
  8. What is going on? I thought the Twins were going to be in a basement battle with the White Sox this year? Fantastic from Abel, love what him and Bradley have brought to the rotation. And great to see Buck's bat heating up. Just going to enjoy the moment and take it one game at a time. Clearly, we're not going to keep winning at the rate we've done over the last 10 days but we're playing really good baseball so every reason to be optimistic.
  9. Caratini was a very shrewd signing. He's a decent 1B so his bat will be in the lineup most days and we have our main catcher for next year assuming Jeffers departs in FA. It's hard to believe the Twins are 2nd in the AL in runs scored. It helps that the two main FA signings, Bell and Caratini have settled really nicely. And Buxton and Keaschall haven't got going yet so there's more to come.
  10. Confession: I'm really enjoying watching this team right now. Thought the number of quality AB's in the first few innings was outstanding. Excellent with RISP. Bats went quiet in the 2nd half of the game but the game was just a formality by that stage anyway. Bradley good, if a bit wild at times. But give me 5 innings of 1 run ball any day of the week. Good to see Morris make his debut.
  11. Was it? They went down big in one game in KC, fought their way back, forced them to get their closer up. All the games were close. Sure, most of them didn't go our way but doesn't mean it was lacking.
  12. First of all, hope Meadows is ok. That was a nasty collision with Greene. All the best to him. Bell is off to a great start as a Twin! Some of his hits haven't exactly been sharply hit but good things can happen when the ball is put in play. Good to see Abel pitch 6 scoreless innings. He gave up some well hit balls but he still put up zero's on the scoreboard. Happy for Lee to deliver the game winning hit. Did well to work the count full and then found a hole for his base hit. All in all, fantastic sweep. Shelton has clearly installed a tougher mentality in the players than Baldelli did.
  13. This trade was actually my favourite of last year's deadline. I said at the time I was intrigued by Bradley's stuff and he's still young. Early signs are very promising. With Abel pitching a good game today we may well have found two pieces of the rotation for the foreseeable future.
  14. Ober clearly isn't going to strike many people out these days but going 5+ with 2 runs allowed is good. A 4 game sweep of Detroit would be fantastic. Hopefully Abel can find his ST form.
  15. Bradley just continues to improve. I know he's had command issues but I don't understand why the Rays let him go so easily. His stuff is electric. Jax is a good reliever but he's not lights out. Last night Bradley was having trouble with his fastball so he simply went to his other pitches. His splitter was unhittable. Thought we handled Skubal very well - not many will knock him out after less than 5 innings.
