I think a considerable amount of people here think Dean Kremer came into existence back in March of this year. He actually has a track record, and importantly, a small sample size of starts this year. Why people think he's going to start in AAA first is beyond me. He's here for the big-league squad. Plain and simply. And I virtually ALWAYS lean towards trading prospects as so few of them turn into anything better than what the return is. The only critique of this trade in this thread that I understand is that maybe they could get more for Reyes if they held on to him longer.

I agree with everyone saying this is a scapegoat and that not much is likely to change with the current folks in charge. Which is why I think they need to hire someone who will at least change the clubhouse vibe. And the right guy is theoretically available: Torii Hunter. We know he wants to manage and he would set a very different tone in the clubhouse. It's just a shame it seems he doesn't have the best relationship with the Twins these days, just recently left the Twins for the Angels, and might get an opportunity to manage the Angels soon. If they do manage to hire Hunter, though, it would be the first positive PR decision they've made in a long time.
