I’m not so much concerned about Polanco at 3rd (and I’m fairly concerned) as I am him hitting second.  We don’t need two hacks at pitches outside of the zone followed by a meek pop up for 4 ABs out of the 2 hole.  Id prefer Alex K in the 2 hole.

We have close to 19k members but many of those are duplicate or spammers. According to the system, just over 5,000 users have interacted with the community by creating content. Most people who create an account never do anything with it.

The software stats are wildly inaccurate. We definitely have never had 49k users online. The most I've seen active at once is around 3,500, IIRC. Pretty sure that was the first round of a draft, can't remember which one.

For all of their regular season success during this recent run, they've been pretty ineffective in the post season outside of that run in 2020.

Tampa Bay looks horrible - the Twins never played this bad in the 18 game losing streak.   They can take over the postseason loser mantle.   They are on a streak of not having scored a run in over 30+ innings.  This is also the worse fielding I have seen all year.

It was definitely an atrocious game for Polanco yesterday, but there have been a lot of over-reactions to it.

Polanco is one of their best hitters, he's got experience, and he's had big hits in the playoffs before.  I like him in the lineup but I am very concerned about him at 3rd.  He never looked good there during the regular season either.

Been watching and would have to agree.  They are not looking great.  Unfortunate no one is there to see it.

Not Twins-related, but any baseball fan would appreciate this story from Portland-before-my-time. I only go back as far as the AAA Beavers in the late 1980s when they were a Twins farm club. Does anyone know the movie Battered Bastards of Baseball that is referenced here?

If they can lay off his slider even halfway as good as they laid off the starter yesterday's split, then they will beat him up. His fastball never was a killer, not a ton of movement, they will square it up.

They were the Bananas of that era. It was as much about the carnival atmosphere as it was about the baseball. I can't remember the old guy who wore the baggy uniform.  But he was hilarious.

He was one of my favorites! I used to think that the Beavers should sell Bernardo Burritos at the concession stand! (Along with Hale Chips.) Of course, with only 100 or so in the stands, they didn't sell much food.

Ironically, 20 years later I had a thesis advisee from Ecuador named Bernardo Brito!
