Caleb Hamilton recalled for Buxton. Not sure why we need a third catcher.

I'm guessing so they can DH Sanchez until they can get a real hitter up to the club.  DHing Beckham just doesn't work

I'm guessing it was a matter of convenience if he was with the team already and they'll make a move when they get back from Houston.

Helman would have made a lot more sense. Maybe Sanchez/Leon is dinged up and we need a backup for a couple nights?? I'm expecting more moves in the next few days.

Since July 1st, Sanchez his hitting .200 with a .587 OPS and 2 HR's. He should not be DH'ing unless Arreaz is going to the OF. Otherwise, the DH should always be whichever of Arreaz/Miranda/Polanco/Urshella is not playing in the field.

DHing Sanchez reminds me of DHing Jason Tyner.

Buxton to the 10 day IL. Can it get any worse?

60 day. :)

But it does not remind me of DHing Beckham, so it's a step forward.

We need outfielders. Ones that can hit preferably. What is up with Gordon, is he out?

Cave and Beckham have both killed us since they have been up at the plate. Cave struckout twice last night when he had a chance to drive runners in. Sit him or option his arse.

Gordon reportedly left the game with dizziness.

Jake Cave has regressed greatly, maybe desperation,  as he watched pitches down the pipe go by and swings at crap, although Twins players seem to do that a lot, while the Twins struck out 16 times last night, Cave had four of them.

Astudillo probably would have done better against Verlander last night than the rest of the team.

I have to admit that I am a little surprised that Jake Cave is still with the team. He is simply overmatched by average MLB pitching at this point and helpless against quality MLB pitching. My only thought is they're waiting for Garlick to get ready that he will come in with Cave going down on Friday. Which of course gives us no help today or tomorrow.

By the way, are Garlick and Larnach playing in St. Paul? Last I heard both were doing "full speed baseball activities" so I don't see why they wouldn't be getting a few at bats in AAA so they can come back up ASAP. We definitely need them both, something that I never thought I would say about Kyle Garlick. I guess the kind of shows where we are in the outfield these days.

Garlick is in today's AAA lineup, Larnach has not been the past two days. With how long Larnach has been away, he probably needs more time.

Garlick of the IL, Beckham bent, I mean DFA'd.

With Beckham batting .400 at St. Paul I really thought he might be able to make some noise at the MLB level.  I guess not.  Well can't say the Twins didn't try to use a hot bat.

Yeah, then he goes 2-25 with no walks for the Twins . . . ouch.

It’s a reminder to all of us that good at AAA doesn’t always mean success in MLB. Or at least not without patience for prospects, which Beckham isn’t

The Beckham DFA clears a roster spot if the Twins bring someone off the 60-day IL (Maeda, Ober, Dobnak or Sano). If more than one comes off the 60-day list, I suppose Hamilton and Contreras could pretty easily be designated.

BTW, has anyone seen any player let go by another organization that can help us? Like a decent RH bat regardless of position? I sure haven't but I would love to be educated on the at subject, Have or will the Nats let Nelson Cruz go? I know his numbers are down but I think his presence could energize this team.
