Twins bullpen are real bad. I think Twins will trade Carlos Correa for at least two elite pitchers (starting pitcher and reliever). Kenta Maeda might not be playing in September. This is the "Roster Moves" thread.
Musk21 Community Moderator Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 Gio Urshela has been placed on the Paternity list with Gilberto Celestino being called back up from St. Paul.

lecroy24fan Verified Member Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 Sano and Kepler to the IL, Contreras called up and Tim Beckham's contract purchased. Ober moved to the 60 day IL to make room on the 40 man.
ScottyB Verified Member Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 Kepler has broken baby toe, assume transfer is retroactive to last Sunday when he was hit in the foot at Detroit. (Technically Monday). Sano has knee inflammation, assume he is on IL until he is traded (LOL). Now batting .083. He actually is worth nothing. A DFA would not surprise me.
Danchat Verified Member Posted July 30, 2022 Author Posted July 30, 2022 Ober was put on the 60 day IL to get Beckham up, if anyone was wondering.

Can only backdate an IL stint 3 days, so the 27th.
HokieRif Verified Member Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 I’m not even mad at the Sano news. Someone deserving now gets their spot (back) on the roster. At least for a week…

Rosterman Verified Member Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Jose Godoy designated off the 40-man. Twins sent Cano back to St. Paul. Aaron Sanchez, who pitched earlier this season for the Nationals, activated to start tonight's game. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/08/twins-select-aaron-sanchez-designate-jose-godoy.html Celestino goes on paternity leave, so Contreras stays as Urshela is back. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/s/sanchaa01.shtml
MMMordabito Verified Member Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Sanchez? Ugghh! More burned-out bullpen innings incoming. Need the offense to average about 6 runs a game for the balance of the season to stay in the hunt.

Do the rules around the paternity list require the team to demote him (nominally) for Urshela's return and then recall him immediately to take Celestino's place?
Danchat Verified Member Posted August 1, 2022 Author Posted August 1, 2022 If Sanchez were going to the pen I wouldn't hate it, but he just doesn't have what it takes to be a starter. No surprise Godoy is off the roster, but I wouldn't be surprised if Hamilton is next (or just off the 26 man) since I fully expect the Twins to find a backup catcher by the deadline tomorrow.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Yeah, that Sanchez headline on MLBTR during the flurry of trade deadline moves sure seemed like trolling. How the hell is Aaron Sanchez only 30-years-old?

The team can ease him to the pen once they trade for Nolan Ryan and Randy Johnson.
KirbyHawk75 Verified Member Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Look out Guardians and White Sox we got Sanchez. I am sick of year after year of Twins sending out hot garbage to pitch. Falvey was supposed to be a pitching guru. You could argue we have 4 pitchers healthy who you truly trust in the playoffs in Gray, Jax, Duran. And Ryan. Who else? Last week my wife and I got rid of cable for youtubetv. BallySportsNorth was the only reason I was paying for cable. I was hesitant but don't regret it now with who the Twins bring to the mound. It was worth saving over $100 a month.

LA Vikes Fan Verified Member Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 When Aaron Sanchez pitches to Gary Sanchez is the battery called the Sanchi or the Sanchezes? Kind of like the dual Elvis impersonators - the Elvi!.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 I don't see this all reflected on the Twins site yet, though ... and I see that Mahle was already added to the active roster.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 I still don't see Lopez listed yet as on the active roster ...
