Twins had a great international program. In '19 we signed Internationals Polanco, Sano & Kepler to extensions, who had a great season in their young career. Polanco & Sano were both All-stars, they were to lead our Twins to a very promising future. Where is our international program now? Emma has been our only international hope. If they give up on Emma, what does that tell you about our international program? IMO, the scouting, drafting & developing have left a lot to be desired. In the early years of the Twins the International market was our salvation. Players like Camilio Pasqual, Tony Oliva, Ziolo Versalles & Rod Carew were bedrocks to our team. IMO, they have ignored this "gold mine", it shouldn't be especially for smaller markets. My hope is that this new regime will change the old philosophy with better scouting, drafting & development.

You forgot to mention Rondon. Twins gathering & hoarding LH hitting OFers haven't given a fair shake to all of them. I have no idea what the Twins' plans are but IMO, Buxton, Jenkins & Emma are potentially our best OF. For years, we have needed to trade off some of that glut, if you have to trade Emma, you better get someone who's special & fit a real need. There are some on your list that should be traded, Emma isn't one of them.

Apparently, the Twins thought the same way as you do; which is their downfall. Why don't you do us a favor & stick with NYY & tell NYY earlier not to coddle their superstar, Judge & keep him off the IL, keep him in until he drops & wreck him

Always had hope that Ober would regain his velo, but he continues to drop. Ober is still an asset & you can't have too much pitching, so I'd not trade him for anything. I've been willing to trade him when his price was high & there was a glut, but the Twins were reluctant. There's still a glut & there is still a market so find a trade.

It breaks my heart too, to see how many promising young Twins players fizzling out. Royce Lewis tops that list. A potential MVP candidate. Twins handled him very poorly, from throwing him in CF, tinkering with his swing, to poorly handling his temperamental personality. There were other conditions but it seems like Lewis is broken. I had big hopes in Lewis, even though Boras is his agent, I thought Lewis loved it here & a reasonable extension was possible. Now, IMO, his attitude has changed, MN is no longer his team. IMO, Lewis would still turn it around but not as a Twin. It saddens me but the sooner we trade Lewis the better.

Which Twins Youngsters Have Earned a 2027 Job?
Andy MacPhail replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Evaluators are usually very generous at rating fielding, so when a player is rated at 45, that's pretty bad. After working very hard, he's still too slow for an OFer, poor jumps, routes, glove & it doesn't do any good to have a good arm if he doesn't have a quick release. Twins are waking up & are playing him more at 1B, but his glove still isn't that good & his hitting doesn't meet the standard for a 1Bman (St, Paul stadium is very hitter friendly) & again MLB will very quickly adjust to his swing.- 85 replies

Cody Clemens, because of his father's name, has been given every opportunity with many teams & failed until he came to MN. Because of shortcomings from other players, MN's low defensive bar & the big selloff, Clemens was given extra opportunities & he came through. Not that he was great offensively, but he came through many times when needed. IMO, a super utility, is a player who can play many positions well, especially up the middle. So, it irks me when someone labels a player who a team wants to plug him into different positions in order to have his bat in the lineup as a super utility. Clemens is not a super utility player. For years, MN have hurt themselves by thinking they can hide defensively weak players at 2B while trying to sell them as good. If they can field balls that are hit at them, they're fine. A good 2Bman has a good glove, range & can turn a slick DP. Cody is maybe a little bit better than Keaschal at 2B, a passable LFer & 1Bman but he's no CFer or 2Bman. Cody Clemens is still an asset for the Twins.

It's crazy that PIT selected Fedco who is rehabbing. Maybe they know something that MN didn't. Wish him well.

GG is a big liability defensively & we have too many DH candidates. MLB will quickly figure out his hitting. For a long time, I've said we need to take advantage of his hype & trade him before he's worthless.- 85 replies

What Happens After the Twins Draft a Player?
Andy MacPhail replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
For years the philosophy has been; defense, baserunning, fundamentals & even hitting doesn't matter. You have to focus on hitting HRs & let us show you how. I have to believe that it has changed. I agree in that making the draftee as comfortable as possible, especially internationals, can make an impact. -
I agree with your premise. '26 is a career season for Jeffers, IMO, Jeffers especially with Boras's consul, Jeffers would turn down a QO, when this could be his best chance to a better long-term deal. If by chance he accepts, it might not be that great of an overpay if the league OKs a high floor. I say the odds that he accepts an QO is minimal, under these circumstances. I'd do it.
