Blankenhorn seems like a fair deal. A prospect who is still a good ways from the major leagues.

Agree. This would be a reasonable price.

Travis Bowyer and Billy Bullock come to mind at a time like this. Don't even remember who they went for.

No one thought Bowyer and Tyler for Castillo was a bad trade.

And Billy Bullock for Scott Diamond is still a terrible trade, considering where the Twins were at that time.

Someone on Braves site threw out Blankenhorns name, pure speculation. A bunch of them want Garver, Jay, Thorpe, salivating over Kiriloff. Surprised they new so much of our Farm system. They even went so far to check box scores to see if anyone was pulled from tonight's games They couldn't find anyone.

Navarretto was pulled from FTM tonight. I'd be fine if it was him for the record, though the team is a bit thin at catching depth.

That said, I think that's more coincidental. I would think Atlanta would want more than him.

Garver, Jay, Palka, Slegers, Wade, Blakenhorn, Vielma all seem like guys that would be enticing to Braves fans and would be fair for Twins. Well maybe Jay wouldn't be that enticing for the Braves. I would say no on Thorpe or Kiriloff

Well, Stewart was pulled after only 70 pitches. Though he had already walked 4 at that point.

yeah, personally I'd say no on Garver, Blankenhorn, Thorpe and Kirilloff.  The rest would be fine I think.

It might be Vielma the AAA shortstop or Stewart or Park or Garver. Eachhad qualities that could entice the Braves.

It absolutely would not be Park. Setting aside the fact that he costs money and has been pretty bad, the Braves already have Freeman and Adams and no DH spot to fill either.

Jaime has a lot of experience, and most AL hitters have yet to have faced him. Also gives us an option to vary our arms in the rotation and put less pressure on Berrios.
Santana (RHP)
Jaime (LHP)
Jose (RHP)
Mejia (LHP)
Whoever is pitching least worst

Heh... that is the most aptly-named #5 starter in the Twinks rotation I've seen so far.

Pity, tho, that moniker has applied to whoever's pitching in the 3 and 4 spots as well...

Id like to keep Garver as well but understand if he's included. Blankenhorn is too much of a wild card for me to be too upset if he's included. Kiriloff and Thorpe are hard no's. Even Kohl Stewart for me is a no but I'm higher on him than most

Honestly, I wouldn't have a problem at all if it was Stewart.

Honestly I wouldn't have a problem with it and could understand it. He personally just would be a no for me. There are other enticing players we could give them. I still am holding out hope it clicks for Stewart I guess

I get that, but my hope there was that Ks from FTM last year would return in AA.  They haven't. He's had injury issues and this year, he's started walking guys at  a high rate (technically this started last year when he got bumped to AA).

I get the potential, but at this point, I don't think the Twins can fix him. I have no desire to pick up a rental for anything expensive. If Stewart was the price I paid, that wouldn't bother me much.

I'm right there with you on Stewart. Especially the way he's been throwing since his return from the DL.

I know this isn't the biggest blockbuster, but how can there be such a lag between announcing the trade and the actual return. Let's go here.

is definitely balk at Wade. But I'd be ok with Stewart.

At first I was like "Ew, Jaime Garcia? No way." Then I'm like, ok if he doesn't cost anything more than a Kohl Stewart. So basically low teens level prospect or worse.

This keeps the clubhouse happy  and the casual Twins fan happy -- hey we're trying - just not the stat happy/prospect happy TD crowd.

He can't be any worse than some of the AAAA pitchers that they've started this year.

Lot of freaking out over what will likely be a non prospect.

This is a good trade for the Twins assuming they don't give up a good prospect (they won't)

They absolutely need a solid 4/5 type guy

There seem to be a lot of people saying that people are freaking out, but I'm not really seeing anyone actually freaking out.

I'm still holding out hope that we break the Rangers record for most pitchers used in a season

Be interesting to see the 40-man roster move this time.

Is he better than Dillon Gee?

Since he is pure salary dump and a rental, you trade a prospect - I say someone from A+...look, maybe it will be Dereck Rodriguez. I imagine the Twins are presenting any number of names that that MAY have to protect next season but really don't, especially from the lower minors.
