I have no idea, but I bet one of you guys do. According to the radio, this is the first game in which Rocco has had a pitcher get an out in the ninth.
jkcarew Verified Member Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 Last time out, Ryan took his first real pounding of the season. Got hit hard, including giving up two HR. So what does the 25-year old do the next time out... He throws the ball over the plate and challenges every single hitter and gets through 8 innings on 98 pitches. And has enough in tank to finish it. He's a keeper. Not going to be dominant every start...but this guy has a place in the front end of any staff.

wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2023 Author Posted June 22, 2023 Acceptable pitching performance.
Tlaker Verified Member Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 Wow…,, I remember when complete games were rather routine.

He did let Maeda go out for the 9th to get a no-hitter against the Brewers in 2020, but he lost it and we ended up giving up the lead... but he didn't get any outs.
wavedog Verified Member Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 Complete game shutout - a real rarity to see these days. Awesome performance Mr Ryan!

Also, neither Garcia trade even made honorable mention...

2wins87 Verified Member Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 I would hope the crankiest fans will be pleased with this game. I can't think of any common complaints that weren't satisfied by this game. Except maybe that Buxton didn't play center but he did hit two bombs.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 Ryan gave up a few too many hits but overall, he looked okay.
MMMordabito Verified Member Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 Congratulations, Joe Ryan! That was a pitching show.
RpR Verified Member Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 M'SN sports rarely has any thing to say about the Twins, I wonder if this will get noticed?
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 If Buxton and Correa finally start producing regularly this is suddenly a team to contend with.
