Lots of comments regarding Rocco pinch hitting so early in the game.  I also dislike that and although it may have worked this game, there will come a time when he does that and has no bench left and a player will get injured later in the game,  Then he'll have to put a pitcher into a player's position or a player WAY OUT of position (e.g. a catcher in LF).

Or Buxton in CF?

Yeah...Julien and Kirilloff out...but there's Kepler.

I'm not a huge conspiracy theory person, but I would buy any theory on what Kepler has on the FO and Rocco. He has to have pics, or video, or financial papers of some terrible things they've done. No other explanation for this.

As it happens, "out there" is 7th Crow Wing Lake, near Nevis, for the summer.

Got 3 bags of walleye filets in the freezer already.

Good thing that the DNR doesn't have the internet!

A lot can happen in the future; he is playing this game, not being paranoid about what may be some day.

I wanna see Joe Ryan go 9

He better get the next two outs very quickly if we want to see that.  Highly doubt they let him go much beyond 100 pitches.

So, Julien and Kiriloff are replaced by Kepler is left in the game?

Kepler is a good field, Julien is a lousy fielder, Kirilloff ?

But did it work today? AK and Julien made outs and the replacements have just been OK. The rest of the lineup is what is working today.

Agree though we may see a pitcher in left field if they keep this up.

Fair point, but I think the exposure to lefties for Julien and Kirilloff are more important in the long run.  Yours is a good point though.

Yeah but its a 26 yo making his debut.  They should still do that with AK and Julien.  I'd rather see them get looks against lefties here.

All but the most elite LHB are pretty garbage against lefty pitching so I don’t get too worked up about reps.

Don't disagree or mind that he is showing urgency. I mind that he's doing it poorly.

The RH bats were Farmer and Solano who don;t generally play in the OF either.

I don't totally disagree with that, but I also think they could really use a game where they keep adding on throughout the game instead of going dormant for a 6 inning stretch with only 1 or 2 guys reaching base.

My bigger problem is who they pinch hit for. Quit taking out your hoped for future/newly current core! Take out Kepler or Castro. Quit turning 2 guys you clearly want to be key parts of your team into platoon only hitters already. You should never have to pinch hit for the top 4 or 5 guys in your lineup if you're truly a contending team. They continually hit for 2 of those guys. I hate it.

I agree in the sense that Max Kepler shouldn’t be on the roster, much less in the lineup.

True but the advantage gained here is roughly the same as the advantage gained by the reps. The time those reps come in handy will be later in the season with no PH options. I want them to have at least seen a lefty in the last few months.

When's the last time we had a CG by one of our pitchers? Or a CG shutout? I have no idea, but I bet one of you guys do.

Crowd definitely getting into Ryan.

As they should.  Been a long time since we've been able to see this.
