John Bonnes Site Manager Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 This has been a brutal year to follow the Twins, which can lead to a lot of frustrations and make a community like Twins Daily very difficult to moderate. But our moderators have had a steady hand through this storm, and we're better for it. While many comment sections have become a depressing cliche, I have journalists at spring training tell me that they think the Twins Daily forums and community are enjoyable, educational and refreshing. (And, sometimes, infuriating, which is also valuable.) So THANK YOU moderators. I know you you hear every complaint, but for every complaint you hear, there are 50 quiet appreciations, and I hope some of our members will take a minute to let you know just how much we appreciate the work and hassle that you endure so the rest of us can have a place to come and talk Twins 365 days per year. Very sincerely,John
Nick Nelson Site Manager Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Thank you so much. You guys are what makes this community work the way it does. We appreciate it more than we can explain.
Doomtints Verified Member Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 I agree completely. Moderating an online forum is one of the most stressful jobs to undertake.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 As always, thanks so much for the hard (and largely unappreciated) work put in by the moderation crew.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Thank you for all that you do, Moderators!
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 John makes a good point. Most here appreciate everything the moderators do, even if we don't say it often enough. So, thank you for making the forums run smoothly throughout the year, even in this difficult season.
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 So does this thread mean that moderator is no longer a thankless job?
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 The mods here are great, overall, this is a great site.
Parker Hageman Site Manager Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Thanks for making this a truly wonderful site.

Broker Provisional Member Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 I've been reading Twins blog since Bat-girl. The Mods are a big part of the success of TD. Thank you all for your good work.

gil4 Verified Member Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Everything in moderation?Except DaveW's Dozier thread - that is an awesome, classic monument to excess! It was worth every bit of the bandwidth it consumed (except possibly posts 995-1000.)
Rosterman Verified Member Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 There is no grater joy than to sit around with friends and be an arm-chair general manager, field manager, pitching coach, or even a player. The wonderful world of social media has allowed this small table to grow past an entire restaurant to a stadium full of like-minded folks who listen, agree to disagree, be a bit snarky at times, make attempts (and often succeed) at humor, and even get a modicum of real information across. And combined with the dedicated folks who really do do analysis and take the time to proof-read their comments and do create discussion, often with the able assistance of a group of volunteer moderators to keep things in check...makes going to Twins Daily every day a Happy Day! Thanks for Being Here!
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 I'd say you're all slightly above replacement. Well done!
Blake Verified Member Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Best thing about the mods is they tend to know how to save me from myself.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 While My Guitar Gently Weeps ... Prince made that one of the best covers ever. He also appeared to make that guitar disappear, or at least defy gravity. Two things I wouldn't have put past Prince. That was an awesome performance.
Loosey Verified Member Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Thanks Mods. I don't even attempt to read comment sections on the newspaper websites, but the comments on Twins Daily are what makes the site. And I think that was the creator's plan all along. TD is my go to site for Twins information.
snepp Verified Member Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 I'd say you're all slightly above replacement. Well done! Good enough to start for the Twins.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Good enough to start for the Twins. Start? That's our all-star rep right there!

Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Yes. Sometimes we complain about over moderation, but it's better than no moderation. The other popular local sports forum is a complete cesspool without moderation and therefore I haven't even looked at it in several years. Thanks guys and gals.

I've tried dipping my toe into T Wolves sites and man oh man... nothing but a bunch of lawless savages. We have a good thing going on here and we owe to our mods.
