Per Fox Sports

"Minnesota Twins center fielder Byron Buxton was placed on the 10-day disabled list due to migranes, the team announced Wednesday. The Twins made the move retroactive to April 15, so Buxton can return to action Sunday. In 11 games this season, Buxton has a recorded a modest .195/.233/.244 slash line but has collected a hit in three straight games."

Here we go. "Blurred vision" next?

Was anyone called up?

My guess is they couldn’t have gotten anyone to PR in time for the game. As LaMarre is the 26th man, he no longer will head back to Rochester. It’s funny. He could theoretically be active for all 162 games, yet he still played a couple games in AAA.

Got it. And weird! Thanks

Another reason why I sure wish the front office had gone out and gotten a real 4th OFer this winter. Let's hope Kepler's injury isn't serious or we're looking at 2 of Grossman, LaMarre, and Granite every day. Yeesh.

I really hope Buxton finds a way to minimize these.  He's had trouble keeping himself on the field so far and the team clearly relies on him for his defense.  (Not to mention his upside)

Why would he have blurred vision next? That makes no sense.

How about just two LaMarres?

Migraines do weird things to your vision. My wife gets them occasionally. Hers are largely in check, but there were times when she pretty much had to be in a dark room. Her sister is a mess who gets them far worse. Weather changes are a common trigger. Hopefully that's all this is as once summer hits, he should have them less.

There's no possible way Buxton could hit well when dealing with that. Given the weather this spring, I woudlnt' be surprised if it goes beyond 10 days.

Is the "blurred vision" line a cheap shot at him? If so, it's not warranted.

Moderator's note: So noted.

So, on to Tampa. LaMarre stays along with 13 pitchers?

If the Twins go back to 12 hurlers, let me be the first to vote for Hildy to be sent down.

IIRC LaMarre has to go back to Rochester for a few days to abide by the 10 day callup rule.

I'd assume Granite or Cave is on the way.

Isn't there an injury exemption for that rule? Or did they change that when they changed the DL time from 15 to 10?

I don't think that's true when there is another player put on the DL.

In the MLB Baseball thread, there's a suggestion for signing Melky Cabrera. Sounds like a good plan, both in the short and long term.

I don't know... Hopefully.

I haven't looked it up but I'm 99% certain that the 10-day-in-the-minors rule does not apply if the player in question replaces another player who is placed on the DL.

That sucks for Byron.  I personally felt like he was actually playing well despite the low batting average and OBP.  The balls weren't dropping but he seemed to be hitting the ball hard a fair amount, just right at people.  I've said it before, but it felt like right before he took of last year.  The strikeouts were down, he was hitting hard ground balls and a few hard liners with an occasional hit sprinkled in.

I thought he was on the verge of busting out again.

Hopefully, he gets over this migraine(s) and continues down that path.

If Berrios is just about the best possible development to start the season, this is well down the list toward the bottom.

There isn't room for the Twins to lose an OFer for any length of time, or even one to play poorly. There's no plan B.

Let's hope this has resolved fully in 10 days.

An irrelevant cheap shot against Buxton and Mauer in a few simple words. Exquisite.

Blurred vision is a side effect of migraines. I understand that by referencing a side effect of migraines, it is perceived that I am taking a "cheap shot" against both Buxton and Mauer.

Since you brought up Mauer, the knee-jerk reactions and assertions by a few in here sure do seem familiar. Noted.

You weren't pointing out a common symptom of migraines. You placed your words in scare quotes, and the symptom you named is one that a lot of people ignorantly criticized Mauer for experiencing. I call malarkey.

I guess Buxton has specifically commented on blurred vision in the past.

Interesting. Thanks for your help in mentioning quotes.
