TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 So did Robert Smith, until he was healthy all the timeTrue...then he retired early to avoid the next one. Some guys just get hurt easier. Not a toughness thing or any personal thing, but I just worry Buxton's body just doesn't handle impacts well.

But sure seems like a lot of other top prospects don't take three or more years to hit. Much more worried about that, in terms of him as a ball player.

TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 Fair. I'm not there yet.But sure seems like a lot of other top prospects don't take three or more years to hit. I don't know, I just see some athletes where you can imagine a bus hits them, they get a small bruise, and shrug. And other guys just never seem to walk away from a bad situation without an injury. I hope Buxton isn't that guy because he style of play almost necessitates a degree of impact/speed/contact....but his body has to start holding up.
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 The injuries are starting to worry me as well, and I've never so much as veered off the wagon. As Levi said, after so many flukes, it's not just bad luck anymore. I don't know if he's there yet, but I'm getting worried he might be.
