sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 Let me explain the ALDS thus far... No there is too much. Let me sum up: Episode V (III, sir!) The Empire Ks It is a dark time for the Twins Fan base. Although the Bomba title has been claimed, Imperial troops have driven our Rebel forces from the Yankee Stadium and pursued us across the country. Evading the dreaded Imperial TV network, a group of freedom fighters led by Nelson Cruz are entrenched in Target Field in the remote ice state of Minnesota. The evil Pinstripes look to dash the hopes of the upstart Twins, and silence the mighty bomba stick, the last hope for order and peace in the MLB…. (John Williams wasn't available so this wiil have to do) To take a cue from the song, what beverage goes well with this game? And if you care to share, what songs remind you of which good times? I am skipping a rehearsal tonight to devote my undivided attention to this game. Not sure that will make a difference, but i'm doing it. And please forgive my lack of patience in posting this before the line ups have been released. I will return to complete my game thread, you have my word!

Ben Noble Verified Member Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 What's the reasoning for putting Rosario in RF and Cave in LF?
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 Tampa Bay taking to the 'Stros inning by inning. 5-1 bottom of the 4th. It would be nice if the Twins could follow suit.

It would be nice if the Twins could follow suit. 8-1 now.Kiermaier hit a 3-run bomb when the team was trailing 1-0 early. It's a good strategy: 3-run homers are a good recipe for winning ball games. Twins will need to hit bombas with men on base tonight. A bit worried about Severino as he's about as rested as possible with only two starts under his belt this season! Odorizzi's an All-Star. Been a rock all year. Time for Jake to step up and pitch the game of his life. Go Twins!
scottz Verified Member Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 I hope our baseball team absolutely freaking destroys the Yankees tonight. Show up.
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 I like the lineup in a do or die game. It's exactly the same lineup as our previous game (except SP, obviously). Hopefully they choose "do" rather than "die" this time.

Yeah...I'd have preferred to shake it up a bit. At least put Arreaz in the lead-off spot and drop Rosario down a bit.
bunt_vs_the_shift Provisional Member Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 Yeah...I'd have preferred to shake it up a bit. At least put Arreaz in the lead-off spot and drop Rosario down a bit.I was thinking the same thing. Arraez has earned more at bats and Eddie hasn't. Loved watching Luis play out the game and grind out a double with 2 outs in the 9th. Give me a team of guys like that. Hated watching Eddie laugh at himself while he strikes out swinging at bad pitches out of the zone. Max looks like he could have used a week of game at bats to ramp back up but we obviously didn't have that luxury. I would bat him down to take off the pressure and give him time to adjust, but maybe tonight he bounces back. As I said in the other thread, for the love of God somebody show some fire tonight! These guys are showing you up, so act like you care more than I do!

Hopefully they choose "do" rather than "die" this time. Well we got O"do"rizzi pitching, so that's something. But Saturday we had "Do"bnak pitching, so that may not help.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted October 7, 2019 Author Posted October 7, 2019 And the Yankees still have not posted their line up. Do i detect a trace of fear? (No really, do i? i can't tell...)
Puckett34 Verified Member Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 Need that rally squirrel to show up tonight. The Minnesota Twins showing up might be nice too. Either or both would be great.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 What's the reasoning for putting Rosario in RF and Cave in LF?Rosario was in right field quite a bit the last two weeks of the season and he's started all three playoff games there. I presumed that Rosie would be in right whenever Marwin started at a corner OF spot during the regular season, but that didn't happen. When Arraez has played left, Eddie has moved to right always. Rosario's strong arm has always made more sense in right field to me. His range this year, for whatever reason, also seems suited to the smallest area to patrol. Another switch that Baldelli made in game 2 was to move Arraez from second to third and Sanó to first with Marwin going to the outfield when Cave was pinch hit for. The easier move would have been to put Arraez in left field.

How about us fans, My god 2002 long time ago, It does MATTER
Blake Verified Member Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 I think the Twins should break the losing streak tonight and not start a new one until next year.

I don't think Game 165 is where you shake things up. You dance with the one that brung ya. In this case, it's Rosario batting cleanup. He might just lean into one tonight and blast one to the concourse.
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 SEVARINO , Wonder if they will continue to never throw a strike when 1-2-2-2 counts, they play with Teams aggresiveness, And up till now we havent showed any. Severino likes his fastball ALOT- so watch early how they draw up a plan for each twin, We show Patience and it could help ? Rosario i gotta be honest - How can any TEAM put up with his approach, lately and all around game, Hope the TEAM can at least Show some We do Care, About our fans and this sickening record, They say it dont matter Maybe thats the Problem, We All do
bighat Verified Member Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 Max looks like he could have used a week of game at bats to ramp back up but we obviously didn't have that luxury. Yeah, Kep looks foggy up there. It seems that the Twins should have either shelved him for the playoffs, or put him in during that last KC series. One or the other. Playoff baseball isn't the time to shake off a month of rust.
Oldgoat_MN Verified Member Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 Arraez has our best BA in this series and his OBP is only behind Cruz and Polanco. No idea why he's batting 6th.I'd move him to leadoff, move Kepler to 4th & move Rosario to 6th.Hopefully Rocco has a plan that will work.
Bomba2026 Verified Member Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 Just watched a great Tampa Astros game... Jim Kaat was one of the announcers too. They have a good pitching staff. So the Twins win tonite and I would stick Perez out there tomorrow and Berrios back in NY. Eddie and Sano need to show up and play like they are capable. I think we might have a squirrel sighting tonight.....I have to tape the game do to work. GO Twins.
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 Perez isn't on the roster, is he?
