I wonder when this was known?

Being, regretably, just a few years older than Belisle, I can attest to the fact that you get to a point where there are any number of afflictions--real, but not really debilitating--that one could choose from prior to being placed on the phantom DL.  Your mileage may vary.  Kick the can for ten more days...

If it's a cartilage issue this should end his season no?

 

Now with none of the on field entanglements the Twins can put him to use in the way they appear to most covet: full time clubhouse leader.

Reading what the medical books say about this particular affliction, I’d say it’s more like a cracking type knee. Something I’ve had since I was about 35...
