...are undercover members of the site?

I have to image that at some point, some front office members have made accounts here.  I find it terribly hilarious to think of the possibility that some of the more outspoken defenders of the front office are actually a part of the front office.  Highly doubtful obviously...but i'm sure they are here and are lurking around.

It ain't a bad gig, if you can get it.

But seriously, what kind of kindergarten, first day on the internet, can't think your way out of a wet paper bag ******** is this attitude?

What the **** is up with people that think this way?  I guess if it never occurred to you that you could be wrong about something it might make sense.

Just very glad I know who certainly isn't part of the front office around here.  We'd be under the A's level if you were.

Welcome to sports message boards and fandom in general.

I'm not sure if any post. Some might because it's awfully tempting to fight back.

But I will guarantee that they lurk.

Like putting your tongue on a canker sore... they will lurk because they are being talked about.

I Guarantee it.

I doubt any are members.  Might some get on and read an article, most likely.  I read long ago that a Tampa Bay Rays site similar to this, had a guy who was posting all kinds of things about players and what not.  The Rays front office contacted him to sign him because they like what he had to say about players and analytics.  This was before so much of the info was just available.  Not sure if true, but seems plausible.

How many Twins Front Office Employees... ...are undercover members of the site?

Almost by definition, we can't answer the question usefully, because if we could, they wouldn't be undercover anymore.  😀

But there was one guy for sure.  He wasn't undercover, and was validated as who he said he was; funny story.  He still stops by occasionally.

Are you really comparing TD to a canker sore?

I've thought the same thing. Obsvr. At least have friends who are.

To those in the room at 1 Twins Way the forums are an apt comparison.

I've experienced it first hand.

During my time in Radio... We had chat rooms where outsiders would discuss our performance.

It often times wasn't kind. It was most times misinformed often times cruel. The sensible thing to do was ignore it and never ever go there because there isn't much point in subjecting yourself to it... but you can't help it so you check out what is being said about you or your friends working with you.. You know it's there and they are saying stuff about you so lets find out what is being said today.

You'll tell your co-workers that you don't go there and they tell you the same but you do and they do.

Like putting your tongue on a canker sore. It hurts a little but you do it and you do it for absolutely no good reason at all.

Twins staff and players put their tongue on Twins Daily.

Of course the Twins monitor this site. i would think much less of them if they didn't. This site is some of the hard core Twins fans. It's just smart business to know what your hard core customers are thinking. It's like a restaurant employee or owner who surreptitiously monitors their Yelp reviews. Here, it easy. You get someone to open an account, post innocuous things every now and then, and read the comments. To me. the big question is do they post or blog to flog management's opinion. I don't think so, but inquiring minds want to know . . .

Well this site is for Twins fans, so it's quite possible we have some followers.

With how close to the vest the Twins front office is about information however, I'd be more than confident that creating posts relevant to the Twins is against company policy though, so anyone doing so would have to think it's worth risking their job simply to battle an internet troll.

But really, how many unconditionally positive Twins posters are actually on this board? You could probably count them on one hand. I think the reality is that the posters who are vehemently negative about the team/front office/ownership lack the perception that MOST of our posters are somewhere on the scale in between. The converse is true with the few 'always sunny' fans. The vast majority of our posters find many things in which they are complementary of the team, but at the same time find many things they are willing to critique about the team. It seems to me that feeling one has to like everything or dislike everything about a team, person or topic is the biggest reason why discourse is failing in our society.

Heres the thing...the original post was mostly tongue in cheek...to the few of those that it apparently triggered...relax...take a deep breath...everything is going to be ok.

That said...Most of us baseball nerds are forum nerds in general and thats why we're here.  MANY front office types are also nerds...and are undoubtedly forum nerds...be it baseball or whatever.  There is a long list of front office people that are well noted from some old school sabermetric forums, so to think that none of the front office are here and keeping tabs on what is being discussed here is naive.  Are they interested in the opinions...I would say absolutely not.  Not in a meaningful 'oh thats a great idea kind of way'.

Is Falvine making posts?  Of course not.  Do any of them have a casual interest in whats going on here?  Of course they do.  Humans like/need validation and I have no doubt that some would come here to see how their decisions are playing out among the hardcore fans.

I do think its hilarious that potential well known poster could actually be an alt account for somebody in the front office...its highly highly unlikely but funny nonetheless.

***Moderator Note**

The only post I see that has 'triggered' anyone is yours, right here, huffy about getting responses other than the one you wanted. Any more of this condescending non-sense and this baited thread which is starting to appear to be singularly aimed to stir up contempt and arguments will be locked.

I think this is all any of us who push back on the unrelenting negativity are asking.  Take those various perspectives on and try to learn something from everyone.  We almost certainly don't any employees who are assertive posters.  That's pretty obvious.

What we do have a ton of perception from all different walks of life, including people who have business experience/ownership at very high levels.  We have people who played or umped at high levels.  People who have worked in TV/media.  People that understand what is happening in a certain situation because of certain experiences in their own careers.

Take the perspectives and add to your knowledge, don't lecture from ignorance.

Pretty sure Riverbrian is actually Joe Pohlad.

The same Joe Pohald who couldn't come up with a more flowery management speak deflection for "ummm, no" is actually the poetic philosopher scribe that is Riverbrain?

Holy crap. 🤣
