Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 Yankees are the best team in baseball, so I'm not expecting wins here......just want Lewis to be healthy and get his feet wet.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 Well, here it is … Royce playing 3rd, Miranda 1st, Castro 2nd, Larnach DH Patzky, Mike Sixel and Shaitan 3
howeda7 Verified Member Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 Swingin Vazquez in the line-up tonight (and probably tomorrow). It's his turn and those are the rules. Mike Sixel, Squirrel and RpR 1 1 1

stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 A lot to like about the lineup—younger players Kirilloff, Larnach and Miranda all in with Santana on the bench. Miranda gets first base, AK in left and Larnach DH. Castro gets his first start at second. This was an opportunity to play Jeffers at catcher in consecutive games, but no. IaBeanCounter Verified Member Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 I was disappointed not to see Jeffers catching, so I looked at Ober's ERA when pitching to each. Vaz has caught 7 games with Ober going 39.2 innings with an ERA of 3.18. Jeffers has caught 4 games with Ober going 17.1 innings with an ERA of 8.83. If you throw out the KC disaster to start the season (Jeffers) and the recent Cle poor performance (Vaz), Ober's ERA is 5.06 to Jeffers and 2.27 to Vaz. For what ever reason Ober may feel more comfortable pitching when Vaz is catching. JMHO Patzky, FlyingFinn, wabene and 2 others 5

So I expect Vazquez to catch tomorrow too with Jeffers DH'ing, Margot and Farmer in the line-up etc. RpR 1

If he's cleared to play, is the plan to ease him back? He might not be at 3rd. But I would expect him to at least dh. Especially with a Lefty going on Wednesday Patzky and RpR 2
