To me the 40k subscribers seems very low for the Twins "red" area. Think how may bars are in this area, a substantial percentage of which will sign up for the MLB full package. Also how many die hard fans are in this area, they will sign up. How many fans, like me, were in the blackout area so getting MLB made no sense. I cut the cable cord a couple of years ago, so the only games I got to watch were national games and Chi WS games (included in my You Tube TV package).

I thought it was tied to PA -
Why does Wallner have so many HBP? Almost 6% of his PA end with a HBP. Is he like Don Baylor who didn't try to get out the way of an inside pitch?

I don't think Miranda would struggle against lefties. If Miranda was only playing first, based on the splits he should go against RHP and Santana against LHP. Miranda has played OK at first 1 OAA in limited chances. Santana is the best defensive first baseman in the AL and maybe in MLB -

He let a lot of clear strikes go by for an earned K. He also got wrung up on some pitches that weren't strikes. So "learning the MLB strike zone" really means learning the MLB umpires who favor the pitcher. -

Miranda has an OPS of. 892 v R and .586 v L. In 2022 it was .721 and .820. Santana is .680 v R and .934 v L. How is Julien/Miranda = or better than Miranda/Santana.? If 25 Miranda is the same as 24 Miranda I believe he should be the everyday 1st baseman. JMHO . -
They have 5 series left, if they win each of the 3 game series and split the Cle series they have 10 wins at the minimum. At 88 wins they should have a WC spot. The last weekend of the season could be very interesting. Hopefully the Twins have a playoff spot locked up and are just playing for seeding. The Twins play Balt, KC v Atl, and Cle v Hou.

Good day for the Twins; Cle, Det and Boston lost. WC magic # 12. Det loss to Colo was kind of a must win game. Their next 3 series are Balt, KC and Balt. As said above the Twins just need to win or split the remaining series.

I'm surprised Winder and or Varland aren't on the active roster. They could cover more than one inning. I trust either of then more than Tonkin. This was a big win, need to keep winning series.

Jays (Gausman) v Twins (López) @ 7:10 pm CT, 8/30/24
IaBeanCounter replied to Squirrel's topic in Archived Game Threads
This team is so frustrating, giving away games in every possible manner, managing, pitching, batting, defense and base running (including the coaches). I looked up to see how August had been and was surprised to see that the Twins were 13-13. What surprised me the most was that at the end of July the Twins were 6 games in the loss column behind Cle for the Division and best AL record and 3 games ahead of Bos for the last playoff spot. Today, in the loss column, the Twins are 5 games behind NY (best AL record), 3 games behind Cle and 4 games ahead of Bos. If the Twins stop making mental and physical mistakes there is no reason they can't win the division and with luck the #1 or 2 seed. However, if the recent trend continues we won't make the playoffs. 500 ball probably gets the 6th seed and a lottery ticket to the World Series. Go Twins and Go Tigers. -

It may be that Rocco has finally realized that Margot is not a substantial upgrade in the outfield.

On the radio, they talked that Lewis was taking some reps at 2nd base. I would think he could handle that and would allow Miranda to play 3rd.
