He was a convenient, cheap yes man that they could hire. His in game decisions are terrible. When the ownership either changes or gets serious, then they will move on hopefully.
Would have even been better if Shelton wouldn't have thrown in the towel on Friday night leaving Prielipp in too long and then using Adams in a 1 run game in the 8th. He has no clue on managing pitching changes.
Couldn't agree more. Shelton is terrible with pitching. It's almost like it's a bother to walk to the mound and make a change. We will just wait until the inning is over. You could tell Prielipp was all shook up causing the balk.
Does Shelton know you can pull a pitcher in the middle of an inning??? He is one of the worst managers I've ever seen for leaving a pitcher in too long. Even worse than Baldelli. Prielipp should have been pulled after the Arenado single if not earlier. And yes, I know about the shoddy infield play.
I don't get it. What can the owner be thinking? Something has to change. For Twins fans the season is over in June. Thank God for Legion and Town Ball. This has to be the last year with no plan, other than fielding a team for the sake of staying in MLB. But we've thought that before.
I wish you had to explain your thoughts with a thumb down. How can you argue the front office isn't ignorant and Culpepper should not be playing instead of Gray?
On the postgame show they said they want to limit Prielipps innings. They might even shut him down for a stretch. They dont want to damage such a valuable arm. Cough, cough.
