  1. When a pitcher shows he is done, a fresh arm is better no matter who it is. Double, HBP, Single in his third inning is asking for too much. Lucky to get 2 innings out of him much less stretching him to 3. Shelton needs to find someone else to make the pitching changes. He hasn't had a clue all year.
  2. This proves even more that Matthews isn't an MLB pitcher
  3. And then people think we can just trade Ryan, Lopez and such because we have such a strong pipeline with Matthews, Festa, Abel (insert any garbage pitcher here), and we will be fine. It would be really foolish.
  4. Building an offensive foundation won't matter if you can't keep your good pitchers.
  5. I couldn't agree more! See my post above, and I wrote that before reading yours.
  6. Spend what you have to to keep Ryan and Lopez. Ryan. Lopez. Bradley and whoever emerges from the rest of the lot would be an ok starting 5. If you are a serious owner, wanting to win, that's what we need to do. If not, live with mediocrity or less year after year. We can't keep going dumpster diving year after year to fill out a rotation, esp after we finally have 60% set.
  7. I'm afraid if we trade our ace, and maybe lose or trade Lopez, we will be back to the Bundy, Archer Shoemaker days. I am not confident Matthews, Festa, Prielipp etc, etc are going to get it done. You have to keep the pitching when you have it.
  8. Is there much more? Saves a whole lot of grief.
  9. Got better things to do. Didn't watch or listen to the game. I can just come and see how we did through your rose colored glasses. Keep up the good work! I'll check in after today's game with you. Hopefully a win! I have the state 12U tournament to go to.
  10. Just when they get you a little excited, they let you down. I actually bought 2 tix for Sunday. Now I think I'll just go to my grandsons 12U state tournament. I didn't think they would make it to Sunday, but looks like they might. Better entertainment actually.
  11. How many series have we lost before that to get to a stellar 2 games under 500? Is winning 8 out of 10 or 15 out of 20 asking too much?
  12. I agree with you 100%. Obviously we haven't done that all year or we wouldn't be 2 games under 500. You can't win 6 series like Mortimer Kenny has stated, and then lose 6 out of 7 series. That's what our recipe has been this year. It's not good enough if you want something more than mediocrity.
  13. Who cares about the all star game? Isn't using Ryan for a game that counts more important than saving him for the all star game? Sheesh...
  14. People ok with mediocrity and never taking the next step are ok with 2 out of 3. When is it time to expect a little more, especially with the big games? Can we ever make a statement?
  15. And to think all we have on our roster from all those deadline trades is Taj Bradley.
