    It's not so much how much money, but are they willing to cut dead weight and replace with MLB caliber talent. This will come with added payroll but adding talent with money being secondary will tell us how serious they are about winning. Also, signing Ryan, Lopez and Jeffers will be an indication they plan on competing.

    Hopefully they send a signal that they want to compete. If so, no he shouldn't be the closer.

    Rocco sure didn't help. But Shelton isn't much better. Is this the best we can do for managers? Looking at the bargain basement pick ups we make in the off season, Shelton fits right in with the Twins philosophy.

    He will be back. He fits the mold perfectly for this management. Probably a yes man, cheap and an insider. Until this organization gets serious about winning there will always be room for guys like "Shelty".

    Problem is Shelton has no clue what a short leash is. He's proved it over and over.

    It's the moves they didn't make. They lost Ryan, added Kremer. Added Hoffman to a bullpen revolving door. Where did they add anything on the offensive side or defense?

    They did what they do all year every year. Add marginal or players that aren't difference makers. They had to add alot more than Hoffman if they wanted to show they were serious about contending. How about adding some meaningful bats or a top 3 of the rotation guy. This pitching staff isn't going to get you anywhere. They aren't even good enough to back into the playoffs with a .500 record. Sub .500 is a failed season.

    Prielipp is a two MAYBE 3 inning guy. Good for long relief or opener or piggy back after opener.

    He is Terrible managing the pitching staff. He really needs to delegate that to someone who understands pitching.

    Over thinking it. Who would you rather have playing? Roden, Larnach or Jenkins. I will take my chances with Jenkins.

    Hopefully Shelton knows when to pull Matthew's tonight. Usually he leaves him in about 4 batters too long.
