DFA to Breslow

This is probably the end of a long major league career made longer b y Twins decision to give him a roster spot after Spring Training.   That spot should have gone to Buddy Boshers to begin with.

Imagine Haley is due back to the 25-man. Twins will have to make a move when Buxton comes back, too. Santiago back in another week.

In minor news, Nick Tepesch goes from rehab in Ft. Myers to the Toronto Blue Jays organization.

Twins gambled on some veterans, hoping they would give a little mentorship in the first half, along with some good innings, and then would be traded for something at mid year, like Abad last year. The gamble didn't pay off, so the trade deadline is time for transition.

Nothing personal, but that is terrific news! The Twins need to act like a major league team, and bring up players have have earned the right to play in the majors. Busenitz and Garver are the two that come to mind for me. The Twins have a pathetic lineup versus lefties, and Garver would be a huge improvement.

I had no problem giving him a shot initially, but this was obviously long past due.

It is time for Garver. He's now one of the best hitters in AAA. Plus, having him on the roster, as well as Giminez, would allow Castro to get tossed when he strikes out as a pinch hitter.

The Breslow move felt like a classic TR dumpster dive that kinda worked for a couple months but then the wheels came off and the FO gave him too many chances. I hope they learn their lesson.

I really want to see Busenitz or Garver come up. Both are ready for the majors.

Considering were the team is in the standings, I don't think you can automatically say it didn't pay off.  Intangibles.

Haley is due back Tuesday i think and Corey mentioned on the radio today that Mollie sees him as the long man in the pen that he needs, sooooo...

Haley for Breslow makes sense.  I think those pining for Garver and some of the young RP's will need to wait for Sept 1.  At that point I'd be really surprised if Garver isn't up.

Not a bad idea. Thank you for your efforts and contributions. But it's time. Was probably time before his last injury. Keep auditioning and playing the young arms.

LaVelle says Busenitz, but I'm not sure why it wouldn't be Haley

Thought I read today the Twins were looking to complete a trade for Haley. If the FO still thinks he has potential, back end starter or solid long man/swing man, it would make sense as it would seem he would come cheap and offer another arm to work with this this season and going it to next. He hasn't really impressed, but we don't see or know or understand everything the FO, coaches and scouts see.

Sometimes, you stumble on a guy you never expected. Right place, right time in his career, etc. He has vastly disappointed in his brief trial with the Twins as a starter, but I find myself intrigued by Turley nonetheless. His control at the ML level has been poor, to say the least. And there is a big difference between AAA and the Majors...but still...he shows decent enough velocity with a potentially good/very good curve, could another shot, a different role in the bullpen, lead to a a real find? I'd really like to find out.

Did you see the game today,  Molitor needs arms tonight, not tomorrow.

Haley can come up right away. He doesn't have to be activated until Tuesday/Wednesday, but he is available immediately, and he hasn't pitched since last Wednesday so he is rested.

Lavelle claimed it was another pitcher coming, not Haley, wonder if Haley might be gone also

Smarter to call up Busenitz tonight. With a short start by Colon, he might need to go a few innings. After a few innings tonight, return him to AAA and bring back Haley. If they bring Haley back today and he pitches a few innings they can't send him out.

Not a fan of Molitors usage of Breslow, he's definitely a LOOGY. At no point this season has there been enough starting pitching for Molitor to afford to use Breslow as a LOOGY. All around bad fit for this team, even if he's the clubhouse leader that Falvine looks for.

Hopefully he can be traded.
