  1. Is there another player who is more unappreciated in sports by hometown fans? It's mind numbing, kind of embarrassing.
  2. Best story so far in 2018, I'm enjoying it. Leave it to my 17 year old to say it's that the old guy who made the team. lol
  3. The strikeouts are a problem, but I'm not too worried yet. Still pretty young still hits home runs. Considering the MLB has pretty much turned into an all or nothing league (bores me) he's still got plenty of value.
  4. Then practice it. And against a shift, it's non difficult to get on base bunting.
  5. I'm thankful for the 5 daily threads on Otani/Ohtani.
  6. Parise's contract was always considered a bad deal and has been considered one of the worst or the worst contract in the NHL over the past few years. Let's hope Darvish doesn't make the baseball lists...
  7. Who are these Wolves you speak of? NBA finals?
  8. I like obtaining Stroman the most of the starters. Gordon, Gonsales, and Burdi. I don't want to trade for any relievers. Sign a couple FA's.
  9. I can't believe Chip Hale was mentioned before I could brag him up. Little lefty I wished I could have been. Then Al Newman was mentioned before me. My son has camped with Al, he is a fun dude to be around. So I guess I will bring up two of my other favorite Twins: Junior and Joe Ortiz. Junior was good, Joe stunk.
  10. Duffey is one who I don't know what to do with. Pressley is frustrating because he has stuff, but can't seem to get anyone out. I don't know who Tomkin is. Gee definitely can fill into a Swarzak role which is beneficial and to get him on waivers is a real nice pick up. Colon has mostly been good. I view him like a knuckler, he's either on and frustrating the batters or he gets rocked. He deserves more starts. Houston has prospects and is making their run. I also would bet the farm that Detroit had no interest trading him here, and none of us knows what he thinks of the Twins. Ans as far as Houston goes, I never want to be a fan of a team who intentionally loses.
  11. I'd be happy if Curtiss didn't pitch the rest of the season.
  12. Rosario or Kepler can fill in at CF on days Buxton needs a rest. Grossman should be a bench bat, who occasionally gets a start in the corner outfield and at DH. He's a very useful player, but better suited as a back up. I don't see why we NEED a primary DH. Use the position as a rotation to give guys a break. Mauer, Sano, Dozier, Grossman, and Garver could all play there at times. Us eit as a way to get the best match ups in the line up as well. If Escobar hits a certain pitcher well, get him in the line up and have Sano DH. The bench next year would be fine with Adrianza, Escobar, Grossman, and Garver. Outfielder gets hurt, Granite comes up. Infielder gets hurt, you have options. Granite, Gordon, Vargas come up.
  13. LaPanta ruined Gopher hockey broadcasts, and he is awful for the Wild. They definitely made him change a few things though ie not cheering opposing goals.
  14. Now that I have seen LaTroy, I'd like to see more. Torii is fine, not as good as I was expecting, but at least he's not Morris. Honestly a rotation of 4 guys might be a great idea. No one gets too old and stale. Assuming no Kelly, Bert, LatTroy, Torii, and Roy.
  15. I always find it very interesting that people who have the thinnest skin are the first to go after others. Souhan fits this theory so well.
  16. I tend to agree with you, but the same things could have been said about Colon earlier this year.
  17. I liked the signing and it was really a low risk. I'm not going to lie though, I didn't think he'd do this well. I just love watching him pitch and as I said before, it's so nice to see one guy older than me in the league.
  18. I'd say look at his track record of writing. Any one of us could have written this article, he phoned it in.
  19. Exactly the timing says it all imo. Then again I find Souhan a windbag who should never have been promoted to columnist.
  20. There is such a thing as leading off an inning...
  21. Shane Mack should not be overlooked. He was outstanding as a Twin. If Pat Reusse makes any hall of fame, it would ruin it.
  22. I'm assuming you mean Garver? Vargas against righties and Garver against lefties with a shot at 1B occasionally to spell Joe?
  23. Well, it looks like you are getting most of what you wanted in the final 55 games. The exception being Colon. I must admit at 42 years old, I love seeing a 44 year old battle and scrap knowing his stuff is below average. I just enjoy watching him mix and match and keep guys off balance for a few innings, or watching him find ways to get out of innings that he has no business doing. Or maybe it's just that I enjoy there being one last guy older than me playing.
