  1. Smalley is fine, I could see a split with him and Bert. Whomever said TK is spot on. He is a great communicator and teacher. Morris is horrible. No surprise the definition of a "me" player is the same in the booth. All he wants to do is talk about himself. Please now go to Toronto and do commentary there. I haven't seen Torii or Latroy.
  2. I remember hearing this when Turley, Rosario, Rucinski, Wilk, Tepesch were all up with the team.
  3. Thanks for the response!
  4. Agreed, although not all inherited runs are created equal. If you come into an inning with zero outs and runners on second and third as an example, I would expect those runs to score most times as opposed to a guy coming in with two outs and a runner on first to face a same handed hitter. I guess I'm just saying it's a very vague stat and I don't have any clue to know the situations Belisle, Rogers, or anyone else has faced. 13-17 on the surface looks pretty bad I'll admit.
  5. Agreed that is brutal, I just was trying to point out the Belisle angst has been a bit misplaced lately.
  6. Do people even realize he's given up 1 earned run in his last 10 2/3?
  7. Who would you promote?
  8. Why in the world do you mess with the MLB line up for a player who likely can not keep up this current pace at AAA? Do people forget how well Rosario, Buxton, ect batted in the minors? The conversation is just plain silly to me, no offense.
  9. Pressly is twice as bad as Belisle. I hope they look at some legit guys next off season. There's nothing in the minors that will be highly regarded in the majors, this will need to be fixed outside the system.
  10. Backup catchers are awesome, usually some of my favorite players. Who doesn't like Gimenez, Junior Ortiz, or Mike Redmond?
  11. Does anyone know when the last time a postion player has pitched so regularly for the Twins? I can't ever remember a position player pitching so often. According to baseball reference it looks as if he may be 1st in career appearances for the Twins unless I missed someone...
  12. The first message should be sitting him after the throw or if he continues to make that play. You can have some wake up calls without putting someone in AAA. I'd like to see Molitor make these type of moves first before a AAA demotion.
  13. My son was set to be the Varsity SS for Hastings, then tore his labrum in our scrimmage against Cannon Falls. At any rate, I've seen Woodbury and St. Thomas both play. They are both solid teams, I don't know if either has enough pitching to win it. Woodbury is better with the bats than I expected, they made our pitchers work the count and didn't strike out much.
  14. If it costs too much to trade for a 3rd starter, it wouldn't be all bad for this group to experience a playoff series without giving up the farm. Just a thought.
  15. Usually I find the trade threads here to be more hilarious than anything, but I must say this one has me thinking. Gray is flawed, but a younger starter with a past record. I doubt the current FO makes this move in their first year, but I'd definitely look into it. If Romero and Gordon are not part of the deal, I think I'd be swayed towards making the deal. If you solidify the starting rotation, the bullpen becomes much easier to fix.
  16. I agree with the first paragraph. I would bring Garver up in Sept. unless an injury occurs before.
  17. Apples to oranges....
  18. There is a mental side to the game. He's not a robot.
  19. Boshers has to be one, he is the guy ho should be in the role of 26th man when needed. No clue on the other, I guess it depends on what role the FO is looking for. Replacing Haley? Filling in for Haley?
  20. If I could give this post ten likes, I would.
  21. I tend to think he would be better in the pen these days. The problem is finding a pitcher to replace him. Some people say we could find just about anyone, but then I guess they didn't see Tepesch's start or Gibson's starts. Maybe they switch out Hughes for Wilk, I doubt Wilk would do any better though.

  23. No argument here, I think I like Vargas more than the Twins do. I think he's the best option of the group, but you are right, the Twins don't seem so sure.
  24. Park was a horrible signing to begin with and outside of spring training, he hasn't done much more than Vargas. Can't say I blame him, statniks take out the human part of the game and his transition to a new life. I guess if that month of 6 home runs gives you a woody so be it. He also struck out 33% of the time with an on base of .288. Palka is another guy who hits some home runs and strikes out far too much. I think some people want this team to turn into some sort of men's softball team. So yes, I've seen them play a little.
