As a fan I never want my team to not succeed. Frustrated to the point of breaking? Yes. But playing is always (mostly) better than not playing.

Having said that, the past few weeks and especially this past series does make it hard to be confident that things will change. They have the formula down pat: hitters fail with RISP; hitters strike out with regularity; bullpen fails completely in late innings of close games. Just as soon as both Correa and Buxton failed to deliver the runs in the 10th, you knew, without a doubt the game was over. When Rocco paraded Thielbar out there in the 10th, all you could really do was laugh and walk away.

Its a 9 game season now and none of the wild cards have been settled. Major slumps by Orioles and Twins and a recent slide by KC truly does make this a race to the bottom. Only Detroit looks like it might be the Texas Rangers of 2024.

Twins have as good a shot as anyone in these 9 games...IF, IF they actually knew how to win. Which they don't. But the games will be played and we will hang on to the bitter end, kicking, bitching, complaining, and all that goes with a team in distress. Thats all thats left us. Time it was and such a time it was.

You would think with all the young players Twins have they would be motivated by playoff money and shares. I mean the Vets probably don't care as they are set financially, but the young guys making minimum Salary's the chance to make extra money would seem to matter. I mean Ober, Miranda, Lee, Juliene, Wallner, Larnach, Jax, Duran, even Royce the chance for playoff checks would seem to matter. I don't see the Twins as quitters, it's not like they rolled over in Cleveland either, they played hard.  Need Festa to pitch a good game tonight, get the bat's going see what happens. Twins still control their own playoff destiny.

Nah, can't go there. We have all played the game, be it from pickup games to college ball. Competitive spirit drives.

I'm definitely gonna watch...everybody always likes to see a slow mo train wreck.

How about Twins actually show some concepts of team hitting tonight. Work counts, foul off pitches and stop chasing sliders or sweepers at their feet. Low let it go, High let it fly as Latroy Hawkins would say. As I said earlier in this thread Twins control there own fate. I'd say we need some luck, but you make your own breaks too.

Isn't this the line-up everybody's been waiting for all season? Run some version (rotating the catchers of course) of this out there every night for these last 9 games and see what happens...

Festa, 2 many foul balls ,  never gonna see 5 or 6 innings

Needs a put away pitch.  24 pitch 1st inning
