I've been out all day, so I haven't read it yet. I'm guessing everyone with a workable pulse is supposed to be traded? Have they suggested resurrecting Big Train Walter Johnson back from the dead to give about 150 innings? If you think about it, it could be like Jurassic Park. Think of all the money the Pohlads could save by being able to clone and patent that technology?

This is the correct answer whether we are willing to accept it or not. Our current rotation is Ryan, Ober, Bradley, Matthews, and TBD. Even though that TBD guy is a versatile as that Cash Considerations guy, I'm not excited about building a rotation around him. When Prielipp comes back, he still will only fill the TDB role and possibly need relievers giving long relief, so we don't burn our bullpen every 5th day. Of course, this gets even worse if Ryan is traded at the deadline. Right now, a 2027 rotation is based on hopes and prayers that everyone comes back healthy and is effective. I'm a fan of a backup plan just in case our hopes and prayers don't materialize. That likely means that Matthews stays in the rotation either at the ML level or in St Paul depending on his options available. At best for 2027, we are looking at a rotation of Lopez, Ryan, Bradley, Ober and one of Abel, Prielipp, or Matthews. Whomever doesn't make it to the rotation will have to be in St Paul with jet packs on to come on over if someone goes down. Ultimately, we cannot afford to have Matthews switch to a reliever at this point.
