    Then there is the other side that we have seen in sports, where a player who maybe could play thru something and shuts it down rather than try and help his team. There are two ways to look at this.

    Or the players understand the real world, where we are not all equal in ability. And they do recognize the contributions he makes and understand that if he says he can play, he will probably be in the lineup. Everyone is forgetting the game he had the night before he hurt himself again. The problem is he can't do that consistently. I am for him shutting it down, but I understand he is a competitor and he thinks this is the way to help the team. At this point, we don't even know if it will reach a point that he will try and play.

    As my original post said, this is the way it is done on every team and every sport. There is a pecking order and some players get more input than others based on their status with the team.

    No he doesn't make the rules but he gets more input than the 26th player on the bench. That is earned based on his status on the team.

    The reporting did not say that directly, I was taking that from the comments being made that it is a pain tolerance issue. Your last sentence is a relic of the past, with the money invested in players these days, if a doctor says they don't play, they won't be playing.

    That's not what is being reported, Buxton said he is going to go until it sparks me up again. The doctors are not recommending he shut it down.

    Well Buxton was our best hitter up thru the all star break, so yeah he will get a longer leash. Kreidler is a AAAA journeyman, so that comparison is apples and oranges.

    He's here for at least two more years, that we need to accept. As for the playoffs, the Twins have not put a consistent winning team around him similar to the Angels and Trout.

    The way they are treating Buxton is what every other team does with their top player, the player gets more latitude in deciding to play or not. And Buxton was our best hitter in the first half of the season. I do wish he would shut it down for the season, but to think this is being handled differently than any other similar situation is not realistic.

    Yes it was too late to bring someone in January to replace Zoll. But he could have brought in a senior advisor type, other teams have done this. Also I believe Zoll had a bigger hand then we realize on constructing this roster during the offseason. He was Falvey's #2, I am sure he had a lot of input into the roster and who to sign and not sign. That is my frustration so many act like Zoll just got here, he has been here for 10 years and is a major part of this mess we are in even if he wasn't the top decision maker. Also Zoll learned corporate speak from Falvey. it just sounds like Charlie Brown's mom whenever he speaks.

    It's the entire structure. The Twins have spent plenty of time talking about building a sustainable contender. Now they have to prove they know how to actually do it. This is where Pohlad needs to prove himself going forward, can he identify the right team to lead the process of building a sustainable contender. I don't believe Zoll is that person, rostering Gray and Jackson was the final proof of this. So can he hire someone and let them do their job and give them the reasonable resources necessary. That is what I will be looking for this offseason so we can hopefully get off this treadmill of mediocrity.

    Do you remember the pop up in the field last week I believe, where nobody touched it and it dropped therefore no error. If the ball gets by you, it's not an error.

    From what I could see, it looked like it got past him, he didn't get his glove down in time.

    He didn't get his glove on it, therefore no error. Just because a play should have been made doesn't make it an error.

    I was surprised Jackson was available to be brought back, many on here said it was 100% he would be claimed if put on waivers.

    He needs to be here on Sunday pitching if he comes out of this start healthy. Give us 4 or 5 innings. They are pretending they are in contention then he needs to be using his bullets up here not St. Paul. Otherwise shut him down for the year.

    Well it did hit the foul pole, so he was watching to see if it stayed fair, looked like a normal reaction.

    Larnach is a candidate to be non tendered same as they did with Rosario, no reason to sign him and try to trade him and then be stuck with him again.

    I think that is his best fit. Get him working out there first day after the season ends and keep him there.
