  1. Prielipp and Matthews have earned the right to be in the rotation next year until someone shows they are better. Kremer or Ober if they are on the roster should be pitching out of the bullpen. Just because we traded for Kremer, he should not be handed a spot.
  2. We need a new front office that will stop the musical chairs. If Culpepper has to move off short, it should be 2B, Lee has earned 3B. No moving him and Culpepper around.
  3. You don't bring the tying run to the plate. It was the right call to pitch to him.
  4. He's only blown up in three starts out of 18 and two of those were in his first six starts. But I agree he needs to start spring training in the rotation, if Abel or Rojas can beat him out in spring training, great. But he has earned a spot.
  5. I will take what I have heard directly from Buxton, he has been pretty adamant about wanting to play with one team his whole career.
  6. In fairness, I think that came from the Houston side, normally trades that fall thru like this don't get leaked.
  7. He has done the unforgivable in a Twins lineup, he is going thru a slump for the last two weeks. For August he has an average of .286 and OPS of .729 but he is the one that gets moved down in the lineup. Clemens has been slumping the whole month of August and he keeps hitting 3 or 4. Move up Culpepper and Jenkins, Jeffers should slide down in the order as well. I am guessing we are going to see a lot of Gonzalez at 1B for Lewis starting next week. I am on the trade Lewis train officially. The team has lost trust in him, I don't agree that it is completely warranted but they have, they need to get a fresh start same as with Wallner.
  8. Buxton-NTC, has said he wants to be here, until that changes he isn't going anywhere.
  9. And he is going to figure out what has plagued him the 3rd time through the order by basically facing the order 1 time, ok got it.
  10. It was Falvey who decided to spend the money on stop gaps, he never had a plan, that was not the owners. If anything hold them accountable for not holding Falvey accountable and bringing in a better management team. They have the opportunity to do that now, will they take it. Zoll should be fired the day we are officially eliminated. All I have heard on here is how Falvey built up the analytics staff and brought the team into the 21st century. Well guess what that took an investment from ownership, and ownership isn't going away until they decide to go away. I am more interested in holding them accountable because I can't force someone to sell an asset.
  11. He is just Falvey 2.0, who he worked under for 10 years.
  12. Reports that were never attributed to Buxton but by different sources trying to create trade interest in Buxton IIRC, I will take Buck at his word that he has been consistent over the last couple of years vs. unnamed sources.
  13. What has Abel done, he has had 3 good starts. He has good stuff but has struggled to throw strikes. Let's at least see him pitch for a year before we say that was a good trade.
  14. Yes and no. They need to get away from signing league average veterans to one year contracts. If he is back, then they are continuing this trend and what is the path forward.
  15. Yes go ahead and trade someone with a NTC clause and now 10 and 5 rights. We can stop beating the dead horse of trading Buxton. Until there is new reporting, he has made it clear he wants to be here.
  16. I am not blaming them, but they were a one year fill in. Either develop players or bring in players that are going to be here more than one year and build off of that and fill in the holes.
  17. And we still end up with a sub .500 record, so how is this helping by doing it year after year.
  18. Don't do one year prove it type signings for veterans and sign someone that you can commit to for multiple years that has been a proven producer. That would be a better type of vet to sign. Other than Correa they really have never signed any needle movers.
  19. So spend $80m even though it is a weak class. That sounds like a Falvey plan, spend money for the sake of spending money.
  20. And he is only going to do that by pitching. That is why Shelton left him a couple of weeks ago, Maybe it was one or two batters too late when he got pulled but that is how they learn.
  21. Then the second pitcher coming in struggles in his first inning, what do you do. Remember they did this with Abel in the first week of the season and kept him in because they had a plan of how many innings they wanted out of each pitcher. And he should have come out in the 6th inning and not the 8th. And what happens if Prielipp is cruising after 4 innings are you just going to pull because that is the plan, that is ridiculous. The innings restriction is a TD narrative with no basis in science. Either keep him as a starter or move him to the bullpen.
  22. I agree on Matthews, everyone seems to want to move him out of the rotation. I think he has earned the right to start spring training as one of the first five. If Abel or Rojas blow by him in spring training then they should be put in the rotation. But he has only blown up 3 times and gets consistently into the 6th and 7th inning keeping his team in the game.
