    Noticed that there has been no corresponding move or moves for Walker yet. Are they trying to figure out what to do with Buxton.

    What surgery is he putting off, I did not realize the injury required surgery. All reports are that it needs rest that isn't going to happen until the offseason or sooner if he shuts it down.

    If they are planning on ERod and Jenkins on the roster next year, then there is not room for him next year. He had a great first half of the year and helped us stay in the playoff race. But we need to get more athletic and he does not fit that mold. Either does Roden, he needs to be in AAA next year for depth. I am not convinced he is that superior defensively. Even the Twins don't believe that, they have been using Clemens as the defensive replacement for Larnach, not Roden.

    If they don't put Buxton on the IL, the best move would be Jackson, so they aren't playing 2 players short. Or else, you just need a dart board, there are plenty of candidates to take off the 40 man.

    I am not sure that Buxton will be on the IL unless something changed today. They haven't done an MRI last I had heard, so how can you say he's more injured without more tests. I think they will play short over the weekend to let him get treatment, at least we will have a true center fielder.

    With this move and hopefully ERod next week, Kreidler should never see grass again, he is a league average defender in the outfield.

    They can move Jackson off of the 40 man roster, that will also create room on the 26 man as well. Congrats to Jenkins, excited to see you play in person on Saturday.

    Jenkins needs to be up here tomorrow and ERod next Tuesday. They will have to make two moves, are they willing to demote Roden and put Jackson on waivers again. All the comments do not lead me to believe they are considering putting Buxton on the IL yet. Should they, I think they should, but he still feels he can play with treatment. No he isn't helping the team by making them play short for a few games but just because we want him on the IL doesn't mean it will happen.

    Are you talking about the same Alex Jackson that 29 teams just passed on grabbing for nothing, who has a career batting average of .174. He did some nice things for us like any role player should. But if we lose him, which is doubtful he is replaceable.

    He has been our best hitter since the first of May. The team needs to find him a position and get him comfortable and competent. They need his bat in the lineup.

    He pitched in St. Paul a simulated inning, appeared to go ok. Hopefully more of an up;date on timeline by Friday. Sounds like he could be back yet.

    Based on Audra's comments, I think there may be a lot of disappointed fans on Friday when Buxton is not put on the IL. Now they could still call up Jenkins and make another move but I have a feeling they are going to give Buxton the weekend to see if he can work thru the latest setback. He told Audra a couple of days of treatment and he thinks he will be ok. Now they could find a new injury or something was aggravated but Buxton seems to think he can be back out there soon.

    I don't think they are going to tell him, Shelton seems to have a good rapport, he needs to convince him. They have shown him great deference not just this year but in prior years as well. And if he is only dinged up and the doctors say he can play, you can't just put him on the IL. I would really like to know what the doctors are saying.

    The A's are doing the one thing the Twins are scared to do, using their second catcher as a DH without a 3rd catcher on the bench. You would almost think that maybe the Twins aren't as smart as they think they are.

    It's an issue of pain tolerance, he was moving around well on Monday. So I am not sure there is much the trainers can say. He is not 100%, there is no doubt about that, but what percentage is he. It comes down to convincing him he is not helping the team right now.

    I am not sure it is that easy, but they have to convince him missing multiple games is not helping the team. We could send down Jackson and put Buxton on the Jackson plan until he is healthy. They have no concerns about sitting a guy on the bench and not using him, put Buxton in that role.

    I hope Audra's remarks aren't a foreshadowing of what is going to happen this weekend. The comment from Buck about hopefully a couple of days of treatment and he will be good to go. They need to get a more definitive plan than that.

    I don't think they have ever built the roster assuming he was going to play 150 games. They knew the risks when they signed him to the contract. That is why there are numerous incentives written into the contract. They can put him where they want to next year. Do you think they will do anything without his buyin though. They still think of him as the face of the franchise whether we agree with that or not. He is going to be given more consideration on any moves than any other player. I actually wouldn't mind him in a corner spot now that we have two legitimate options to play center in either ERod or Jenkins. Everybody says we should do this or that with him or trade him, this isn't fantasy baseball. With a player of his tenure and stature with the Twins no move is as easy as the moves made earlier in the year when we reshuffled the infield. And I think the Twins have shown their belief in him many times over the years and recently.

    Any transaction won't occur until Friday when they play again if they Buxton on the IL. Otherwise nothing will happen until Tuesday.

    I am surprised he didn't play the hometown boy, is he not aware of this fact. Maybe he will pinch hit for Bell in the 9th inning and drive in the go ahead run.
