The White Sox are truly awful. I turned off last night's game out of mild annoyance and it turns out the Twins won.

Keep in mind that so far this season, Cleveland’s record v the ChiSox is 5-5. And yet they still lead the division.

I wonder if the remnants of Beryl will have any effect on the game tonight. Looks like a decent chance of rain thru the day today and tonight in Chicago.

Did Buxton get hurt scoring last night?  Margot starting in CF.

Buxton gets a day off after 4 consecutive games played. Been going on almost all season. With Martin injured, Margot is the only backup CF on the roster which means we get to watch him flail against a very good right handed pitcher. Yay

I would have preferred Castro in CF, Lee at 2nd and Margot on the bench

I was thinking the same thing just a few minutes ago when checking weather radar.

Kind of wish we had missed Fedde here, as the odds that he will be in another uniform by the trade deadline are high.

Still hoping he'll be wearing ours.

Twins rank in all of MLB entering July 9:

BATS
3rd in OPS
1st in doubles
5th in HR
5th in BABIP
21st in Ks per game (106 fewer than number pitched)

ARMS
2nd in Ks per game
2nd in fewest walks per game
5th in lowest WHIP

Good stuff!

Throwing strikes and making guys swing. - few walks - 5th lowest WHIP is great!! Teams are going to get hits and score, but giving up few cheap runs and have the ability to pitch out of trouble.

Strikeouts are Waay down on offense and lots of XBH…..nice combination!!

Indeed.  It seems an obvious solution, but Lee has yet to play an inning at 2b for the Twins, which is where so many of us had him penciled in.  Perhaps there is a reluctance to ask him to play too many defensive positions this early in his MLB career.  He has certainly been great at the plate, but I don't really recall Lee being tested yet by a difficult defensive play.

We can't be over-confident against CWS, Fedde is a good pitcher especially while pitching for CWS. We have Margot in CF in place of Buck against a RHSP. It wasn't that easy last night with a full crew & an easier SP.

Weiss and Stewart are starting rehab stints in St Paul tonight. Who knows? Couple weeks?

No Lee to start either.. I don't fear the Vazquez over Jeffers situation tonight as much as I did a week ago.

On the positive side, the Sox strung their hits together as advantageously as possible last night, and the Twins did the opposite.  Some regression on both sides would be helpful.

Much like Brock Stewart and Justin Topa, I'll believe the Twins are playing Lee at second base when he actually does it. Stewart and Topa may be rehabbing, but until either or both of them take the mound and throw a pitch for the Twins, I won't count on any contribution from either player.

I'd be willing to bet that Farmer would play second if Willi started this game in center field.

I do not know if there is a way to check Farmer's before after,  but I wonder if his getting hit in the face has affeced his bat.

He would not be the first Twins member to have that happen; his glove is fine, but his bat is keeping on the bench.

It was against the Sox it happened last year wasn't it?
