Twins. Why would they do this?

No idea. Just a random thought I had about 2 severely depressed assets.

I suspect on Yankees Daily you’d get a bunch of people saying that the Yankees would say no (although they really do hate Volpe)

Volpe and Comal is a lousy deal for Jeffers. Basically 2 guys who have failed with the Yankees. I'd much rather have prospects and I'm not a big fan of trading for prospects. I've seen a proposed Kyle Carr and Kaeden Kent package for Jeffers. That's way too little and that's better than this idea. This sounds more like clickbait put out by the Yankees. I've also seen a package of Will Warren and Hunter Dietz proposed. That's a little better but still seems a bit light.

Frankly, if this is all Jeffers is worth to the Yankees time to say no and move on to Tampa or Seattle or , maybe even keep Jeffers around.

It is definitely an interesting package, but it isn't what I would look for with trading Jeffers. Doval has been inconsistent at best for the Yankees and Volpe definitely has high upside, but the Twins have Culpepper and Houston coming up at shortstop. I wouldn't be angry if the Twins got this and Volpe is intriguing, but I would look to getting some young controllable arms for Jeffers. Elmer Rodriguez or Carlos Lagrange would be ideal, and I would trade Jeffers straight up for Rodriguez at least and maybe Lagrange as well.

This is exactly my thinking. They don’t need a SS. They need an electric arm that immediately slips into the rotation or bullpen and controlled for several years. No on Doval. No on Volpe.

As Ashbury said, this rumor is effectively Yankee trade fodder that Bowden said both teams would say yes to.  There is literally nothing to this other than Yankee fans think they have to trade Volpe.

The issue is, what this year show with the Red Sox trade for Curtis Mead is there is minimal good hitters out there available.  That Curtis Mead trade for Early is a crazy deal.  There are many other teams available than just the Yankees. There will be an overpay the question is how much value can the Twins extract.  Can they effectively get a $12 million overpay? I think it’s possible, Pitching is definitely more available than hitting but it doesn’t appear any high end starting pitcher will be traded. That includes Joe Ryan. I think Tom and Joe have a good relationship. maybe they can get a deal done.  It will be pricey though.

Ted Schwerzler suggested onX earlier today the following: Jeffers and Larnach to NYY for COF Jasson Dominguez, a former MLB Top 100 prospect who has struggled in the majors, RHP Carlos Lagrange, a current MLB Top 100 prospect, LHP Kyle Carr and INF Stiven Martinez, both NYY Top 20 prospects. This sounds better than Volpe and Doval, but I'm still not sure I would do it.

Yankees won't do it anyways.
