Well said...and a look at that reliever list...OMG. We're relying Topa and Funderburk. Grim.Just grim.

When Julien is the alternative.. maybe just let the guy try to hit who got on base twice earlier tonight.

Things are the way they are. Under the circumstances, it wasn't so bad (Even though I didn't watch it). Pablo pitched much better than I expected coming off a lengthy IL. Got a look at Pereda, which inspired some hope (maybe we can move on from Gasper & Julien). Let me break it to you, we aren't making the postseason (I dealt with that after the offseason). So, I don't mind losing to KC if there is a chance for them to beat out NYY for the last WC, fine. My hope is for them to sweep NYY. Then I"d say we had a good season.  :- )

Amen doc ,

It a good day when the Yankees lose to other opponents,  but it's a great day when the twins beat the Yankees...

I wish it happened more often ...

I think KC gained a game on Yankees by winning last night against our twins ...

Your not missing much by not watching  , one bad pitch by Lopez , bullpen kept opponents in check , we could have won if our pathetic offense could hit ...

I’d say, acknowledging that this is a very painful period in Twins history, equaled only by Calvin Griffith’s mass exodus allowed in the 70s, that it is a good thing.

I firmly believe that being a fan that gets the most out of fandom is sticking with it through thick and thin, which I’ve done from 1964-5 until today, having seen my first Twins game as an exhibition game in 1964 as an 8 year old at Tinker Field in Orlando.

Despite the painful periods, there’s been a lot of highs. Rod Carew and his 4 seasons of .350 - .388 averages in a 5 year period. Joe Mauer in his prime. The incomparable Herb Carneal. Roy Smalley’s color commentary. Getting to watch the brilliant Gene Mauch. Loving Lyman Bostock. The 1977 team, the best offensive team I ever saw (and probably the worst pitching team).

Even now, when the Twins seem to have no cohesive, winning approach to hitting at the MLB level, I enjoy Brooks Lee, Byron Buxton, Royce Lewis, Austin Martin, and very excited about: Gabriel Gonzalez, Walker Jenkins, Kyler Fedko, Kaelin Culpepper, Hendry Mendez, Ka’lai Rosario, maybe Gallagher and Armstrong, maybe Kendry Rojas and even possibly Aaron Sabato.  Hoping for the best with Abel and Bradley. And I really love and believe in Zebby Matthews!

I still watch every game, even though it can be very frustrating but I do see Lewis growing, Lee a few chases from being a good hitter.

So, that’s my long winded endorsement for the value of hanging in there, as tough as that is!

The Yankees currently hold the 1st WC spot, not the last. They're 6 games ahead of KC. KC is currently behind the Mariners and Texas for the 3rd of 3 spots.

2 yrs in a row the Twins went on vacation over the last month of the season. Playing about as bad as a team not named the Rockies could play (except even the Rockies started playing a little better)  When you look in the dictionary under (don't care) there is the picture of the Twins...again. Some bad teams at least do play spoiler. The Orioles have won 4 straight from the Padres and Dodgers...two teams vying for 1st. O's have zero to play for in the standings but at least they are enjoying the wins lately.

But Twins are playing right now with the passion of a sloth. There is nothing there. They are losing a lot of close games because they look like they want them over with. Watching them blow leads all over the place against the horrid Whitesox would make any fan not want to come to the ballpark anymore. Hey, if the Twins finish up 0-21, they can lose 100. Go for it.

Don't these guys have any pride left in their jobs? On a most serious note....when you don't have anything close to resembling a bullpen, you sure won't win very many games. They are at least proving that for all to see.

Wacha has done that to a lot better lineups over the last few seasons. The Lee errors.. we didn't have enough base runners to have base running errors?

Rest assured if we had baserunners they would have made the mistakes…..

Twins Time Line of Doom

2023…Season of hope ends in joy

First playoff series win since 2002. Fans dared to feel optimism.

2024…Season of hope ends in sadness

Expectations are high, but the team disappoints. Fans feel the sting.

2025…Season of sadness ends in indifference

Continued mediocrity and disorganization. Fans stop caring as deeply.

2026…Season of indifference ends in a fan base completely checked out.

The doom and gloom only ends when all three are gone!

Pohlads-Falvey-Baldelli

Pretty generous with the 2025 view… I couldn’t even call this mediocre, just me though.

Get pitching but no hitting,or get hitting but no pitching. Sounds like a Rocco team effort,it is a can't watch anymore situation.

Hey at least we now have football.

There is nothing indifferent about the final weeks of the season. I am sure the teams fighting for the last playoff spot are expecting a full effort on games that potentially impact playoff standings. Some players are playing for arbitration stats. Others are playing for a spot on the Twins or another team. Still others are playing for their last chance at a professional career. One such individual is Mickey Gasper, down to his last gasp in Major League Baseball, pinch hitting in the 9th. While the outcome is not what I would have liked, Mickey Gasper had a quality at bat.

Yeah, team management can be indifferent, but individual players for the most part can't.

The veteran knows how to tangle up his opponent. It’s like watching hitters swing at an invisible ball.

Unfortunately, the Twins can never have a pitcher like that. In order to get on the team, they all need to try to throw through walls against every batter.

I would still rather watch a random baseball game than a random football game.

With a revolving-door of randos on the roster, Twins games have become pretty random.

Tanking for a top draft pi k?  Who cares?  They will probably screw that one up too.  Why all the hate on Lee?  Sure he has a lot of work to do.  He's a young inexperienced mlb player.  IMO I think he actually shows some potential.  Where is all the scrutiny on others?  How about Matt Wallner just to name one.  Sure he had 21 Homer's butb14 of them are solos. He only has like 36 RBIs.  He lied out at a very high rate.  He's a butcher for fielding and throwing.  But I still want him.  He shows potential.  There's plenty on this team that have no business on a major league roster including Rocco as manager

I think his hitting will improve but he’s not a shortstop. He is less athletic than most MLB middle infielders. He’s 24, so not that young, and has had access to high level coaching his entire life. He’s as experienced as any 24 year old player can be. His path to contributing is at 3B, but the Twins have Royce Lewis there. The Twins have known this since they drafted him, or they should have if they read any scouting reports.

Wacha throws 93-96. He’s not a soft-tosser.

The Twins are in a 5 game losing streak... I've seen 5 game losing streaks before. The 350 million dollar Dodgers are currently in a 4 game losing streak. The Dodgers have lost 6 of their last 7.

The teams the Dodgers have played over the 7 games. D-Back, Pirates (Swept by) and Orioles for one game so far.

Baseball has always been baseball and it will continue to baseball.

Anything can happen in baseball. Twins are living proof of that. If Twins sweep NYY, that'd demoralize them. What were the odds of CWS cleaning our clock? Don't spoil my last hope for this season.
