    The Brewers have signed 3 minor leaguers with no major league experience to long term contracts and all 3 of them a in the majors contributing to the team with the best record in baseball. Of course the key is identifying the right players.

    The only potential problem with that strategy is what happened to the Brewers last year. Often injured Washburn was offered the qualifying offer assuming he would explore the market for a multi-year deal. He accepted the offer (around $21 million which was more than double what he had been making) preventing the Brewers from using that money to help in other areas of need). Plus he has missed over 1/2 the season injured. If Jeffers accepted this years qualifying offer it would probably be close to 25% of the Twins total salary. I love Jeffers but if the return is good he needs to be traded.

    That is a huge understatement!! 5 relievers with ERA's over 5.00 is pathetic.

    Sunday 4 of the bottom 5 starters in the batting order had batting averages under .200. And the 5th: .208. No wonder they scored 2 runs! Actually its a miracle they scored 2.

    The Twins are running out basically the same lineup as last year with about the same result: they can't hit!!!

    I think Larnach being on the roster tells us 1 thing: No other team wants to give something (anything) up for him.

    I'd rather see Hunter as a bench coach. I feel he would be able to work more closely one on one with the players as well as gain managerial experience.
