    The 1st base position has been a black hole for years now and really needs a in house solution. They have signed numerous FAs and only thrown good money away. At this point Lewis is a fair glove but no bat. And people thinking Keaschall could play 1st are dreaming,he couldn't field 2nd and now you want him at 1st. He needs to remain in the OF, in LF because of his weak arm. You would then have ERod in RF with better defense and stronger arm. With Jenkins in CF which would be a far better OF. When and if Buxton can play you play him as your 4th OFer. You could package Lewis and Ryan for a catcher and yes that may be a price to pay but its time to move on.

    Hopefully this is only the start of things to come. When you have a bad product it needs change and this is and has been that for years now. Time to look and see if you can get some people from the Brewers or Rays to come over to get this organization looking up for the future.

    The whole thing is a mess because of Buxton. With his injury history the team carried Outman to cover CF if Buxton went down. Now that is on the FO because Outman is far from what he was in LA but had no options. Then the medical staff didn't help the matter at AS break telling him he wouldn't do anymore damage if he could play though the pain. I think everyone knows that the older you are the longer it takes to come back from injury and or surgery. And another thing that seems to happen is when you favor a injury you have another. To be realistic he should have had the surgery around the AS break and it maybe would have been less complicated,but now that's all hindsight. Anyone who believes that he has value to this team at this point of his career is fooling themselves.

    Love all the talk about should they bring Bell back or not. This team is a way worse team than just Bell. They could drop 15 or more off the 40 man roster for starters. Looking at the roster from the start of the season only 3 players performed at or above expectations. That would be Bell,Clemens and Lee. They drove in almost 250 RBIs alone,you would need to go to 6 other players added up to get there. You win games by scoring more than your opponent and this team is way too pull happy and doesn't play baseball. Being a small market team the plan needs to be more like the Brewers and Rays and less like the Yankees. Every year the Brewers and Rays spank the Twins because they play baseball while the Twins play HR. Time to move on and make major moves at numerous positions or like being a 4th or 5th place team in a division that is getting better.

    This team was eliminated a long time ago,they never were able to go on a run. Even in baseball a team has to put together a winning streak. How do you think Cleveland overtook the White Sox. To many games given away by one aspect of the game or another. If the BP wasn't imploding the SP wasn't able to get out of the 1st inning without giving up runs. And last but not least only having 3 players with 75+ RBIs when you win by scoring 1 more run than your opponent.

    A season is and has been 162 games and if a player can only go 100 or less pick a different sport. I hear the NBA season is 82 games,so maybe that would be the sport.

    Bradley's problem is and always has been between the ears. His stuff is above average but he needs to have a more bulldog mentality. Maybe should sit down with Jack Morris this off season. As far as Lewis goes he may have found the position he can play,but his bat doesn't play. When he stands tall in the box he is fine. The problem is when he dives out over the plate swinging at pitches he shouldn't. He loses his top hand and the bat. That may be a pitch recognition problem that should have been dealt with long ago. I think he should move on to a different organization who maybe will be able to fix him. This organization is in the bottom of the division again and has to change or the fan base will.

    Has anyone looked at the standings,this is a 4th place team in a division of teams playing 500 ball. They need to make major roster moves to improve the team in 27. All the talk about Jeffers isn't going to help the team do what needs to be done. Why wait for Lewis to get back to someone he isn't. He had a month or two in his major league career. Time has come to move on from 4th place players. I guess TP could sit on his hands and wait to see what the CBA looks like,but is that a good idea. Time for him to step up and show the fans he hears them. He now has another year of bad baseball to look at. Running the same team out next with only a couple of changes will only see the same result. They gutted the BP last year now it's time to do that to the position players.

    This team was bad coming out of ST when you have players like Gray and Outman on the roster. They also thought that Lee was the answer at SS. Then Keaschall at 2nd made up the middle very weak. You should have seen that Wallner was not looking ready to go and should have stayed behind. And having a patchwork BP put this team actually where it stands today 4th place and racing for 5th. Sorry but if everyone wants to see Bell,Clemens and Larnach gone because they want the team going younger,why is it that Buxton isn't on the list. This team should have been blown up last off season after the big sell off after the trade deadline gutted the BP. All you have to do is look at the White Sox team and see what can happen in doing so. If Tom P wants to make a statement to the team and the fans its this off season start over with a new roster,not just a spot or two.

    The problem with Maki is that it took over a 120 games to make changes with the SPs prep so they could get thru the first inning without giving up runs. They would also be 20 to 30 pitches in going into the 2nd inning. It put the team at a disadvantage to have to get back in the game early. He is not at fault for the injury problems or the BPs up and downs because of the gutting that took place last year. That issue wasn't addressed in the off season and having to go to the waiver wire took time. Again as I have said before Falvey and Levine were brought in to build a pitching pipeline that never happened. The majority of the pitching staff are do to trades made. It's time to draft and develop pitching in house. That doesn't mean a couple of arm's that means drafting numerous arm's and with good coaching get them ready for the show.

    How about the fact he is not 20 something anymore and his body takes longer to recover. It's really becoming the beating of a dead horse. If he's only been able to play 50%+ of the season why does everyone think that will increase. I said the other day sit down with him and his agent and tell him we are going younger in the OF and want you to be the DH. That may make him ask for a trade because he doesn't want to DH or maybe he has changed his mind about that.

    All the talk about Buxton's future with the team is tiresome. First off he's having hip surgery on Friday and months of recovery. The organization and manager could sit down with him and his agent and say we are going to go younger in the OF in 27,but could have a spot for you at DH. Everyone knows that Buxton doesn't want and was not a good DH. So he maybe would except a trade after the start of ST showing other teams he has something left in the tank. On another note Erod looks far more ready for the show than Jenkins. Made the great play and throw to 3rd. And all of his at bats had great swings with good contact. His HR started the 4 run inning and the BP did their job.

    People seem to forget that Falvey and Levine came from Cleveland. They were going to build a pitching pipeline that never happened. The majority of SPs were traded for not developed. Making matters worse was messing up the TV deal by St Peter. The payroll thing makes any organization nervous when you miss on 2 big dollar signings. I don't think everyone on this site thought the Donaldson signing was a good idea. He was a selfish player who was only interested in his stats. Then making a even bigger mistake signing Correa the second time after he walked away. All those dollars could have been used for players that fit the team.

    The BP for the 27 season has to have arms ready to pitch not on the IL for multiple years. Someone like Sands is at the end of his time in a Twins uniform. The other thing that needs to change is stop with the 4 innings build up in St Paul. That plan is a waste of time,when has this plan been used this year. If the SP can't go 4 or 5 innings he shouldn't be in the rotation and yes there will be a game here or there that something happens. So do you really need a 4 inning guy sitting in the BP like the 12th or 13th player on the bench. The one thing the manager should be doing is if a starting player looks bad in the box for 2 AB make a change,is it a good idea for them to go 0-4 with 3 or 4 strikeouts.

    Its nice to see that so many of you believe the season will start on time. I said weeks ago that the roster needed a complete tear down next year. The 3 name mentioned should be only the start of the many changes needed. And for everyone saying bring this player up now and that player up have you been watching Jenkins AB. You can see a big difference in his AB compared to Culpepper's. Unless you put players on the bench for the last few games this year is riding the bench useful. If there's a ST that's the time to give players the opportunity to show their ready. As far as SP goes changes have to be made. I believe Ryan needs to be traded and with Ober in the BP or traded as well that opens up 2 spots in the rotation. Hopefully Lopez and Abel are back from injury. The BP needs to be addressed this off season not in season. I see at least 4 holes there with Rogers and Minter being gone. And 2 more upgrades to Sands who should be non tendered and not moving players back and forth week after week from St Paul.

    Look at the Reds who brought in Franconia,are they better now? The problem isn't Shelton it's the ownership and FO. People seem to forget Falvey was brought in to build a pitching pipeline. What pipeline did he build? Almost the whole SP was traded for and has spent a better part of the season on IL. Started the season with numerous players out of position and also not playing up to their potential. Wallner played himself basically out of the organization. It also looks like Lewis is heading in the same direction. Buxton kept trying to play on 1 leg and should have had surgery weeks ago. Some people also say the Jeffers injury was a problem,but looking back the team had a better record when he was on IL. Looking at the team as a whole Clemens,Lee and Bell have carried the team for the better part of the season.

    Watching Lewis hit is hard to do,he's diving over the plate again. Every team knows sliders down and away will get him swinging every time. All the talk about trading Buxton needed to happen long ago. He is in need of a hip surgery that should have been done already. No one can say it will be successful and he will be ready for next season. Even if he is he may have to move to RF or LF because of his limited mobility.

    Love all the talk on weather Larnach does or doesn't make a catch on a foul ball. If he makes the catch how strong of a throw can he make sitting on his butt. The play that was not made was Keaschall allowing McKinstry's double turn into a triple because of his weak arm. Every team knows it and will look to take the extra base. Time to be honest that the team has run out of gas. And in the last week Shelton has run out the same lineup with a poor result. What is going on with Caratini and Jackson and Ross? Just maybe they would have given the team a jolt.

    With this season over why is Buxton still with the team when he should be looking into the surgery he needs. Why do players wait for seasons end when they could have the required surgery. He is not going to make a difference in the end result.

    People are missing the point I was making this team will look to sign Lewis to a Buxton type deal and he will remain a Twin for years to come. When he and Wallner should be moved in the OS so the team doesn't have to deal with someone who is in St Paul or Slumping for the Twins. Until the other night when the game was over and no pressure Lewis was 5 for 59 or some ridiculous number. He needs and they need a change of scenery.

    Coming out of ST everyone knew this team wasn't going to be good. They lost Lopez and anyone who thought Lee was the answer at SS was asleep. Moving on to 2nd base and Keaschall who because of a weak arm was positioned there. Signing Bell to play 1st base knowing he was not good on defense. Hoping that Lewis would be a player from the past that didn't happen. He is the new Buxton,a player who is hurt or slumping. Bringing Buxton back to play in the Field of Dreams game was a bad idea. Taking half the season to figure out who's at 1st and 2nd,SS and 3rd cost them probably 10 games. Who on this site if you were a GM would trade for Ryan after seeing him give up 6 homeruns in a game and look really bad in his next outing. There was talk that Larnach was traded to the Astros but the owner stopped the deal. And then of course thinking Wallner playing himself back to St Paul because he struck out 50% of the time. The trades that Zoll made to upgrade the pitching haven't worked. Hoffman is a bust,he walks too many hitters. Kremer can't pitch 3 or 4 innings without giving up multiple runs. Minter seems to be a after thought for Shelton to use and he's a FA this OS.

    They made changes to Bradley's starts and now to Prielipp's as well. Both were giving up hits and runs in the 1st inning and pitch counts were high. Bradley is throwing 10 to 15 of his warmup at game speed. They are limiting Prielipp's innings because of his injury history. These last two games are certainly not the norm for this team or any team. Scoring 26 runs happens far and few times in a month in 2 games. With Kremer pitching tonight the Tigers may score 10 or more. I hope that's not the case,but he seems to lose focus in the 4th or 5th inning.

    If he really wants to play next year he should be having the surgery this week. To many players want to get treatment and then realize its January and the injury is no better. If he goes that route he will lose the 27 season. The 26 season is over and having him on the field for a handful of games is silly.

    All the talk about not trading Ryan on or before the deadline is silly. Every GM saw him give up 6 HR's in a game and also not look good in the next outing as well. He has shown to not be able to pitch a whole season in his career. They had to move both Jeffers and Larnach because you now see the affect of them playing for a team that everyone is saying they won't be on next year. If the team still wanted Jeffers you have to think an offer would have been made by now. And Larnach is playing to show other teams what he can do and I think he has fallen off because of no trade.
