    With this season over why is Buxton still with the team when he should be looking into the surgery he needs. Why do players wait for seasons end when they could have the required surgery. He is not going to make a difference in the end result.

    People are missing the point I was making this team will look to sign Lewis to a Buxton type deal and he will remain a Twin for years to come. When he and Wallner should be moved in the OS so the team doesn't have to deal with someone who is in St Paul or Slumping for the Twins. Until the other night when the game was over and no pressure Lewis was 5 for 59 or some ridiculous number. He needs and they need a change of scenery.

    Coming out of ST everyone knew this team wasn't going to be good. They lost Lopez and anyone who thought Lee was the answer at SS was asleep. Moving on to 2nd base and Keaschall who because of a weak arm was positioned there. Signing Bell to play 1st base knowing he was not good on defense. Hoping that Lewis would be a player from the past that didn't happen. He is the new Buxton,a player who is hurt or slumping. Bringing Buxton back to play in the Field of Dreams game was a bad idea. Taking half the season to figure out who's at 1st and 2nd,SS and 3rd cost them probably 10 games. Who on this site if you were a GM would trade for Ryan after seeing him give up 6 homeruns in a game and look really bad in his next outing. There was talk that Larnach was traded to the Astros but the owner stopped the deal. And then of course thinking Wallner playing himself back to St Paul because he struck out 50% of the time. The trades that Zoll made to upgrade the pitching haven't worked. Hoffman is a bust,he walks too many hitters. Kremer can't pitch 3 or 4 innings without giving up multiple runs. Minter seems to be a after thought for Shelton to use and he's a FA this OS.

    They made changes to Bradley's starts and now to Prielipp's as well. Both were giving up hits and runs in the 1st inning and pitch counts were high. Bradley is throwing 10 to 15 of his warmup at game speed. They are limiting Prielipp's innings because of his injury history. These last two games are certainly not the norm for this team or any team. Scoring 26 runs happens far and few times in a month in 2 games. With Kremer pitching tonight the Tigers may score 10 or more. I hope that's not the case,but he seems to lose focus in the 4th or 5th inning.

    If he really wants to play next year he should be having the surgery this week. To many players want to get treatment and then realize its January and the injury is no better. If he goes that route he will lose the 27 season. The 26 season is over and having him on the field for a handful of games is silly.

    All the talk about not trading Ryan on or before the deadline is silly. Every GM saw him give up 6 HR's in a game and also not look good in the next outing as well. He has shown to not be able to pitch a whole season in his career. They had to move both Jeffers and Larnach because you now see the affect of them playing for a team that everyone is saying they won't be on next year. If the team still wanted Jeffers you have to think an offer would have been made by now. And Larnach is playing to show other teams what he can do and I think he has fallen off because of no trade.

    The season was over after the Phillies and Padres series,because of being swept. Then to lose 2 to the A's put the cherry on top. The best part of the season is no more Rocco ball. Shelton has allowed the SP to go longer and the players most of the time don't just swing for the fence. They still have holes to fill in the infield and OF. If and when the 27 season starts they need to decide who they are. And hopefully they don't start moving players all over the field like this year.

    Culpepper and Jenkins look good for the future,but let's be honest with Keaschall he's a player without a position. His glove is bad but his arm is worse. There are kids playing in the Little League WS with better arms. And does the team really want a DH with warning track power. The only position is 2nd base and that has players lining up who will play it better. Unless Lewis is moved this off season 1st base is out of the question. He may be a trade chip to get a SP or BP arm.

    If people listen to Shelton he asks Buxton before every game after warm-ups are you good to go. That sounds like he has concerns on weather or not Buxton wants to play hurt or not. Sometimes the manager has to do what's best for the player and the team. If a Dr tells you the injury is not going to get worse that doesn't mean you are good to go. The next 2 weeks are going to be the most important for the future of the season. Having a underpreforming Buxton in the lineup may be the teams downfall.

    The big problem is Jenkins will be on the roster September 1st,but the White Sox are in town August 28th. Buxton has been a player in waiting his whole career and his team can't wait any longer. It would be wise to put him on IL Thursday and have Jenkins ready for the White Sox. With all the division games ahead the team can't wait for Buxton. The next problem is the BP starting to show the inability to throw strikes. They are coming in and walking the 1st hitter they face. They have to clean that up now or it will end the season.

    Missing out on bases loaded and 1 out again was the turning point of the game. Good teams add on and bad teams don't. If they want to stay in the hunt this has to change today not next week.

    It is August 19th and teams will add 1 position player and 1 pitcher September 1st. That is when you will see Jenkins and Ryan will be back. As far as Buxton goes who really cares if he is in CF or 1 of the other outfield positions. He plays 100 games or less in 162 game season. At his age and health history who thinks he will be on the field for more games go forward. It's time to move forward next year with a whole new outfield.

    It's time for Jeffers and Buxton to s__t or get off the pot. This team scoring in the 1st and zip after that isn't going to work for long. You can't load the bases with no outs again and again and not score. Time and time again man on 2nd no outs and can't even get them to 3rd. They aren't playing baseball when things like this happen.

    As I said weeks ago every team knows pitch this team in the bottom of the zone. The other thing this team can't hit junkball pitchers. You will see that tonight with Perez pitching for the Braves. And of course he is a LH pitcher so Shelton will load the lineup with RH bats. This is the week to show up or start setting up their golf reservations for October.

    There isn't a single person here that thought this team would be in the position it's in at the start of the season. You all wanted the rebuild to start in April and now that they still have a chance it's bring up this guy or that guy. They brought Culpepper up and he hasn't set the offense on fire. The 1st of September is just around the corner and they will add Jenkins and a pitcher. And then again Buxton will probably be on the IL,because I think he just wanted to play the game in Iowa. Which ever team ends up being the 3rd WC in the AL or the NL has 0 chance in the playoffs.

    Sorry but Keaschall is a player without a position. He can't field the ball at 2nd and even if he can field the ball in the OF he can't throw the ball. When he makes a throw it looks like he is short arming the throw. His throws are more rainbow than line drive. His bat is fine,but defense is hard to watch. Can this team afford to have him in the lineup everyday. Because the team can only have one DH maybe he is the DH against LH pitching. It would give the team a better look at Roden for the next couple of weeks.

    Lewis was on MLB before the game and told Harold Reynolds he was going to go deep to LF. That's hard to do when you SO numerous times. Watching Taj start the game he doesn't have the mental makeup to pitch in a game like this. He needs more experience before having him in a game like this. You saw how Nola handled it versus Taj and its more between the ears than ability. The whole lineup looked like deer in the headlights swinging off balance and striking out again and again. They all seemed to be trying to hit one into the corn.

    Watching the games over the last week its easy to see that Clemens needs to take a seat. He has become an automatic out,with his only hit being a bunt. And Keaschall is a player without a position. He can't field at 2nd and he can't throw from the OF. With Lewis now getting most of the play at 1st that also means he can't play there. He may need to go to St Paul and Jenkins take his spot. I don't know if his throwing a baseball can be fixed or not but it's not working as is. It is a real problem for the team and their chances going forward.

    When Buxton went on the IL they could have brought Jenkins up but didn't. Why is that,maybe they know something that we don't. If fans want to see Jenkins or Culpepper play they do play just a few miles from Target field. The way I see next years roster it will look a lot different because this roster is full of multiple position players. As a player you need to know what position is yours to play,not what glove you need. If there is such a logjam in the OF why didn't they move someone like Wallner. He is another one who could have been up to replace Buxton but they chose not to.

    DFA this guy or that guy isn't going to help a team that can't hit pitches in the bottom of the zone. Every team is now pitching this team at the bottom of zone. The other thing is with the stacked RH lineup against LH starting pitching Clemens is the best hitter. The SP has been terrible since the break giving up runs in the 1st and 2nd inning game after game. Hard to win when you have to come back from a deficit again and again. Really tired of the booth saying Taj this and Joe that when you see they are at 40 pitches after 2 innings. Hopefully the new SP with a 6+ ERA can get passed the first 2 innings tonight. I turned last nights game off after the 3rd inning because I saw the hand writing on the wall. This team can't keep Witt off the bases and a single or a walk is the same as a double. The time is now to show up or look to next year.

    Don't know what game people are watching,but since the break just 1st base alone has had Bell,Caratini,Clemens,Jackson and Lewis. And 2nd base Clemens,Keaschall,Kriedler,and Lewis and Lee 1 game. It really doesn't look like the infield is settled to me.

    Its pretty plain and simple you play musical chairs with your infield things like this will happen. Last night Shelton moved Lewis to 2nd late and Caratini to 1st and had 5 infielders and still lost. Caratini was not able to get the ball down the line. At times Shelton seems to over think the game. Not saying Lewis makes the play but probably reacts differently than the night before. If or if not more trades are coming the team has to settle on the infield positions to remain in the playoff run. They can't keep giving extra outs to the other team.

    Clemens was on MLB Central and DeRosa said he was going to go deep in the game and he did. It was a great win and everyone should be excited. This teams biggest problem though is can't hit LH pitching. They stack the lineup with RH bats and are just not getting it done. If they want to get a playoff spot this will need to change.
