  1. Look at it this way they could still lose 100 games. And with the BP they have it is looking good.
  2. Here's a little timid bit it only took 8 years for Rocco to ask the team to run. The last time I looked he is the manager, you don't ask you tell them they need to run. It's long past time to put Topa on the shelf,he has been bad all year and was unable to pitch last year as well. Attendance looked like I was watching a Marlins game. Hopefully Polhad's were watching and get a hint that it is time to sell.
  3. I know batting averages don't mean as much as before, but 3 in the lineup under 200 and 2 at 200. A #1 pitcher would be looking around thinking why me. This team has gone to the Dogs literally.
  4. I've said it before and will say it again Ryan would have been gone in July but for his fiance being with child. He will be traded at the winter meeting. Lopez has made his money at this point and his easy going personality might stay. That of course depends on if they want to blow up the SP like they did with the BP. Why would they trade Jeffers with no one ready to catch. Lewis is someone that needs to go now that he is healthy and would bring something in return. Larnach won't bring much in return because he is a bench player or leftside DH only.
  5. Smart GM's don't blow up their BP's when the SP has injuries and is in flux. As long as this organization won't make the changes needed this will remain the clown show it is.
  6. His problem is the same as the list of players on this roster. They get to 2 strikes and still swing for the fences. When ducks are on the pond get the ball in play. Watching a team like the Brewers or the Padres they will move runners into scoring position with sac bunts and use the sac flies. When you rely on the long ball you are the team out of the playoffs.
  7. First off why would either one want to stay through a rebuild. They both are deep into their careers. The team is years away from competing for a winning season. The objective for a player is to win the WS not play for a last place team. Until someone in this organization wakes up and fires any and all the management the team the fans are watching today is the team of the future.
  8. Win or lose still unwatchable baseball. Object of the game is score runs not wait or hope for the homerun. Game after game losing in the first inning. Gophers and Vikings seasons are starting which is a good thing.
  9. Infield in or back wasn't the problem, throwing fastballs down the middle was. Springer hit the first pitch 111 mph to LF and it only got worse from there. Wallner has no business playing RF,he is a liability in the field. Watching him when the ball is hit to him is a will he or won't he catch the ball. They still have a good chance to lose 100 games.
  10. How about escorting Maki out the door!! Oh that's right he's Rocco guy. Team is now going to get smoked by the Blue Jay's and the Padres.
  11. Game was over early so watched Dodgers Padres instead. Nice to be able to watch real baseball being played. The last 3 games the Padres have played they used numerous sac bunts and sac flies to score runs. When you are losing by 6 runs getting excited like Corey P does about 3 solo homeruns is silly. They are now a can't watch team and glad the season is over. They can all make their golf reservations for October.
  12. Its time to realize that the list is far greater for this team. We could come up with a number of issues for every player on the roster. The bigger issue is the manager and coaches in my opinion. You brought up SWR as a player who needs to show his worth. Maybe its time for Maki to show his worth. With SP at a premium because of injuries they will need 7 or 8. You will more than likely see Ryan traded at the winter meeting because he is not going to pitch through a rebuild. The OF has been a mess for years now and doesn't look much better next year. If Buxton goes down at anytime Martin is a liability. Both corners are a revolving doors with no one wanting to say I got this. They had Bader who handled LF great and could move to CF when needed. But chose to trade him away for a prospect years out. Lewis has become the new Buxton in the organization hurt for half the season or more. With the new plan that seems to be coming does anyone think they will sign him to a Buxton type deal. Also does anyone think Lewis is looking to sign such a deal. I think he himself wants to win not be on a team years out.
  13. I'm watching the Vikings per season game tonight. Even with the 3's and 4's playing it will be better than watching this team. Just think they still could lose 100 games.
  14. Salary Cap won't help a team that the organization drafts badly. They may or may not have a few players ready in the next 5 years. The list of players who look like bench players at best is high. Where is Miranda and of course we see Julien,Larnach and Wallner. The only thing for sure next year will be a increase in ticket prices and concession prices.
  15. Don't get too excited they just ran into a batting practice pitcher named Paddock. Thank God its football season in a couple of weeks.
  16. As of today all the traded pieces will be in the playoffs, except for Coulombe and Jax. So I would say they are all fairly happy with what happened. If they were still with the Twins they would be making golf reservations for October.
  17. Time to be honest, they have two SP and no BP. You see what happens when you gut a BP and your so called #1 starter goes down. Then your four and five who can't go more than 4-5 innings also go down. But hey we all heard that Falvey knows how to build a pitching pipeline. He forgot to tell us it will take 10 or more years. Watching Lewis at bats, why is it that he thinks its a good idea to dive over the plate. If you have to do that isn't the pitch too far out of the zone. I'm glad the football season in both college and NFL is a couple of weeks away.
  18. This game was over in the first 15 minutes of the delayed start. Totally unwatchable, and to think some die hard fans payed $100.00 for this crap. Its time for the fans to stand up and protest what is going on here and get the changes needed. The taxpayers are the owners of Target Field and need to make it clear that it is not a minor league field.
  19. Tired of hearing that this is all about payroll. The whole organization is a mess. The Rays,Cleveland,Brewers and more do fine with less. If this FO is so good at evaluating players why is it that they sent 11 of them out the door. And now what is left couldn't beat the Saints. This organization will be lucky to sell 1,000 season tickets next year.
  20. Ryan won't be signing any long term deal here because the team is years away from anything. The White Sox traded Crochet because he wanted out and you can't have a unhappy player in the dugout. Now that Polhad's aren't going anywhere that means Falvey and Baldelli won't be either. That means more time of unwatchable baseball.
  21. To be honest here Joe Ryan probably would have been gone except for the fact that his fiance is with child. It is something they probably both talked about and decided to wait until the off season. This team is years from competing for the division and even longer going to a WS.
  22. They blow up the BP when its well past time that its the FO and Rocco that needed to go. It was fine to trade expiring contracts like Castro and France as well as Columbe. And as far as Correa goes he has not shown he was worth the money, and he seemed to have a foot out the door. I did see a report that the Polhad's are bringing in partners, and not selling which is not good news. They really need to go,and a house cleaning needs to happen.
  23. Easy!! Fire the fools in the office and dugout. You don't trade arms that you have years of control. They had a couple of years to develop replacements, but blew up the one thing this team had. We all saw what happens when you have no BP the last two nights in NYC. They went there with the Yankees not playing well and are getting smoked.
  24. As usual they tried to out homer the Yankees. Everyone gets all excited because Buxton hit a solo homerun, how about the 3 strike outs. The BP has at least 5 guys that belong in St.Paul or lower.
