bunsen82 Verified Member Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 Something to monitor, the other player Houston wanted in the Correa trade was Castro. My guess is the trade is dead but could be a reason why we have not had a Castro deal yet.

whosafraidofluigirussolo Verified Member Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 This sounded provisionally fine with the first report that Outman was part of the return, but apparently it's one-for-one, which is less exciting: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/07/dodgers-finalizing-deal-for-brock-stewart.html Danchat and sftwinsfan 2

strumdatjag Verified Member Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 Reports on SI that there is a “minor snag” holding up this trade, and that would be Dodger’s concern about Stewart’s health.
whosafraidofluigirussolo Verified Member Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 Also, wasn't it Outman who robbed a would-be game-tying homer from Correa during the recent Dodgers-Twins series?

TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 I am just fine swapping Stewart's ticking timebomb of a shoulder for a former ROTY contender. Little older than I'd like, but I'm game to gamble on a dude like this. ToddlerHarmon, ihc70, Doctor Wu and 3 others 5 1

Stewart has 2.5 years of control still, Outman is still a 4th ourfielder on the Twins and can't even platoon with Larnach and Wallner. That makes no sense. USAFChief, Dman, Danchat and 7 others 9 1
Russ Verified Member Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 Another lefthanded bat with a low batting average
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 Think I'd rather have kept Stewart.

AceBee Verified Member Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 Seems like Twins like to trade for players who random go-ahead HRs against them (as their only career highlight) ..John Ryan Murphy anyone? Doc Lenz and Doctor Wu 1 1
UK Twin Verified Member Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 The Duran and Bader trades were fine IMO. This one isn't. If Outman was a few years younger then it would be different. But he isn't. He won't be anything more than a 4th outfielder once Rodriguez and/or Jenkins are up. WOW Correa back to Houston! Spiritualized, LA Vikes Fan, AceBee and 3 others 6
2wins87 Verified Member Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 Ok, any indications that the Twins were just retooling and intending to compete next year were a smokescreen. This is just a fire sale where they are taking whatever they can get. Doc Lenz 1
Spiritualized Verified Member Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 Falvey trading like he's not expecting to keep his job. Top 5 draft pick next year coming right up!
UK Twin Verified Member Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 If we have to eat some of Correa's salary we better have got a heck of a haul in return. AceBee 1
Rosterman Verified Member Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 Outman is basially Keirsey with a tad more power. Be interesting to see where he lands, and if he pushes Kiersey to the waiver wire, which means we lose Stewar and maybe Kiersey for this guy. Yes, he can play enter. So that was the big grab right now. He will go to the 40-man, which means we don't gain a spot and will likel;y stay there in the off-season. danielp19653 and MGX 1 1
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 So no prospects for Stewart, just a reclamation project in Outman... hmmm. Hitting about .130 the past 200 PAs after nearly winning Rookie of the Year in 2023. Strikeouts look like a big problem, and he's another lefty OF. Seems to be very good defensively. Four years of control on Outman vs 2.33 on Stewart... gotta say I thought Stewart was worth more than that. I'd love to see them fix Outman but it's hard to have faith in this coaching staff with the majority of the younger bats flailing away in the majors. He has to improve big time just to earn that 4th OF spot... I guess you play him every day the rest of the year and see if you get can him fixed up to be the Bader replacement for 2026.
